Awesome!!! This will help Michael Brantley who was never an ideal leadoff hitter down to the 7-9 area of the order, keeps Asdrubal Cabrera where he should be, probably 2nd, mabye 3 and solidifies a pretty strong outfield. Now, if the boys can just throw strikes.......(Yeah, I'm looking at you Ubaldo Jimenez.)

I still think Brantley is one of the most underrated players in the AL. Makes contact like crazy, never strikes out, will probably have a career average around .290-.300 before it's all said and done. He's also going to be a very good defender in left now that he doesn't have to play center.

That being said, though, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Indians trade Brantley for some starting pitching. Brantley is still relatively young and getting better, and I think if the Tribe can get a #2-3 starter out of him they have to pull the trigger. They're blessed with a surplus of centerfield-caliber players, so why not deal from a position of strength and fill a need? IMO, the Indians can't be taken seriously as a contender unless they somehow grab some more starting pitching.

So many great things in this thread. I went back to see who was arguing with me that the Victorino deal was a bad one for the Red Sox (it was ACamp and NDinMich). So I wanted to gloat a little about that. But there are a lot of things in here that I wanted to quote and say "wow, look how right/wrong that was," but there was WAY too many things to choose from. Take a look back and see for yourselves. Great stuff in hindsight.

ACamp wins the Most Wrong, though. He was pumped about the Angels and down on the Red Sox. "Howzat work'n foya?"
