Teebow is gone this year and if i remember right Urban's contract is up. In Urban's book he was quoted saying something along the lines of there is nothing more he would love then to finish his coaching career at ND. Well lets get him here and start rebuilding what we all know we should be......ELITE. Ive never been big on the oust Weis topic, but after 5 years of preseaon hype not being lived up to its gettin harder and harder to see the logic behind it. Honestly you cant count Charlies first two years for him, he was winning with Ty's players, as soon as Charlies recruits got here we went down hill. Now im not saying that i dont think they are quality players, because they are, but for some reason charlie cant get them to live up to their potential. Keep Charlie on as the OC, but lets get Urban in here to get the most from our players.

If he left Florida for Notre Dame the starting price would have to be $5 Million per year, but we'd be then forced to give him time to bring in players that fit his system. There would be a renewed feeling about this program but without instant results in the first 2 seasons with such a high price tag, I'd be worried some Charlie supporters may get a little anxious.

A Pro-Style QB can't excel in his offense, which would mean we'd probably lose Crist. We'd have to bank on Urban bringing in a QB fit immediately.

I'd be excited if it were to happen but I dont think it would.

Well if you can't count his first two years you definately can't count his third and fourth!!!

Thats the interesting part, but either way I dont see him leaving for another college job.

Hes pretty much got a Lifetime contract at Florida, and the only new test would be installing his system in the NFL.

Meyer would keep Crist as the QB, he'd run it like Alex Smith did at Utah.

Alex Smith was a dual-threat QB, so was Josh Harris, and so is Tim Tebow.

His offense is designed for QB draws to keep the defense from constantly attacking from the edge to stop the fast skill players. Crist from what I know has never doubled as a power running back, and I have doubts about his speed considering hes coming off of a Torn ACL.

If we go to a pro style QB without the threat of the draw and pass more, his offense would be identical to that of Kansas' and wouldn't be as effective as it could be.

I dont think its the loss the bugs most of us, its the type of loss. Was i upset about the USC loss, yes, was i callin for CW to be fired after it, no. They played a blatently better game in that loss then the debacle that happened yesterday. We all have choked on the losses the past 5 years stating to ourselves that we were one step away from a break out year, that charlie was one step closer to the elite we used to be. How many more years do we have to keep fooling ourselves that next year will be the year?

I have been optomistic the last few years since CW has been here. When Lou Holtz left I was thinking who will fill his shoes.......Bob Davey? Nope, It got to the point where it was too painful to watch an ND game when he was coach. Tyrone? I thought he might be the one til the USC game inwhich he did back to back trick plays. Living in Buckeye land all I hear is the comparison between us and the Yankees and Im not going there beacause i grew up back east and I'm a Yankees fan. All I hear is that we will just go out and buy another head coach. Its embaressing. OK...CW may not be Knute, Leyhe, Ara, or Lou but seriously who the hell wants to coach here? The poor bastard will need to put in a clause that says UND has to supply endless amounts of Rolaids and Maalox +. Really.....Surprised CW hasnt had a stroke or an MI from all the pressure and BS. What has happend here is not all CW's fault. I dont give a rats ass what anyone says. The revolving door at Notre Dame has got to stop or we will turn in to the "once was" football program and NOT looked upon as a power anytime in the future.

I will always be an optomistic fan but i feel like im in the middle of the ocean in a sailboat that hasn't seen wind in a few years.

I would like to see a change in the coaching. The talent level is there, but something is missing that the current coaches seem unable to fix.

Really? Execution is a product of good coaching. what about putting it up 51 times against Navy? Just abandoning the run game completely What does Charlie always say about a team that is one dimensional?

Execution prevented the kids from getting excited for the game? This team plain and simple was not ready. No answer for the option.

the "thats why one is a captain and the other is not" line should be it. How can Weis sit back and throw the kids under the bus. We had a good plan, the kids just didn't produce. BS! if you want accountability Chuck, look in the mirror!

I would be interested to hear how Charlie coaching better could have prevented Jimmy's fumble, or the two missed field goals, or the defense not tackling.....It couldn't have, its a team loss, I am not saying Charlie and the staff were perfect last week, but we left at least 16 points on the field and lost by 2....The only part that you could blame Charlie for is the fourth and goal, if you think we should have kicked....but being honest w/ myself I know I personally agreed w/ going for it at that point.

I wouldn't blame Weis for any of those turnovers etc. I blame him for a team not knowing how to tackle, block, and those other football basic fundamentals. With solid fundamentals this team is probably undefeated and cruising against teams like Navy.

Yeah I know where you are coming from and agree with a lot of it. I am not usually confident when we usually go for it on 4th and short like with Quinn and they would sneak it. I would prefer Allen or Riddick to hughes in short yardage because they can hit the hole quicker. I do think that we have a players to accomplish what we want to on the defensive side of the ball. I looks at guys like KLM, Flemming, Filer when he plays, Teo as young players, but improving players who by next year can become good players on that side of the ball. What this team is severely lacking is good DTs to free up the linebackers to make plays against the run.
