chris really lit it up a virginia.he saw the writing on the wall at nd and left so greg got mad
or his dad or both did.and he decided on miami

Take your pick: journeyman MLB catcher mostly w/ the Braves OR the reliever who played college ball at Auburn before staring career w/ the Baltimore Orioles and then bounced around the league w/ arm trouble.:wink:

The whole reason Greg, (the #1 Tight End Recruit in the Nation out of HS), came to South Bend was to potentially catch passes from his brother. He was quoted on signing day saying that the Olsen to Olsen possibility was too much to pass up on. Chris had an ubelievable spring that year, but then a freshman named Brady Quinn came in and challenged for a starting role with Holiday passing Chris on the depth chart. Chris transfered to Virginia and Greg to Miami his other final school when he chose us. I knew then Brady had to be special for Willingam in Co to allow that to happen! I think it turned out well for us, Anthony Fasano was huge for us, and Carlson has even more of an upside!

The real question is whatever happened to Chris Olsen at Virginia? I never heard from him again.

ya and in ncaa football 2007 terms, the tight end is a waste of an impact player.... Quinn, Samardzija, and Zybikowsi are the perfect positions to have as impact players

I am not sure how true this is, but I have heard that Greg did not make the decision to leave ND, the choice was made for him by his pops....and Greg was not very happy about it, and was seen in tears on his way out of ND....

Watching him on the college all star challenge and following results from combine he seems to be doing quite well. The fastest of all tight ends and with his weight at 265 he should be a high draft pick. He supposedly broke many of Shockey records at Miami

I was in Va last month. Chris Olsen changed my brother battery at the local Walmart.

Chris Olson is a future Chicago Bear TE!!! O.K. this may be a little premature, but I wouldn't object as a Bears fan.
