I voted for Eddie Robinson. Nobody on that list had is worst starting there program.

Rockne all the way. Bear was OVERRATED. Lou was good but Ara was better. Knute is the man. Tom Osborne won 1 legit NT.

I met Eddie Robinson. Great man. His motto was something like "one wife, one job."

I vote Knute as the all time best. Lou is next best, and probably the most quoted coach college coach. "Smash mouth football" I think is a Holtzism.

You could make an argument Rockne was the greateast coach ever; no matter the sport or level. He is clearly the best college football coach being in that he INVENTED the modernized version of the game (he did invent the forward pass, right?). It is a joke, Rockne had better teams than Osborne in about 1/3 the length of time

I'm a sissy. When I was a kid, my father sat behind me while I watched a black/white movie of Rockne. I had to keep my back to my father to hide my teary eyes when Rock died in the plane crash.

FNC had "Knute Rockne - All American" on last month. It's still on my TIVO and will remain there for a long time.
