Ok just out of curiosity how many of you are in a family and feel like the darkhorses when college football comes around becasue only a certain few of you are fans of our irish? my whole family is ohio state fans god forbide i hate the buckeyes with a passion! I just hope that ND can come up with something this year so I can actually have bragging rights amongst my family for once. And their is one more thing I was wondering is Matt Lovecchio graduated or is he back at iu? Weird how he took ND to a bcs game and was a squash after that?

My pop really gives it to me when ND loses because he just loves to raz me, but deep down i believe he loves the Irish. He just likes to bust my balls even more. My mom wants the Irish to win because i'm in a better mood, but thats as far as her intrest goes. My bro is a semi-big ND fan, especially when their good. We live in N.J. so i've only been to 3 games,(Rutgers in 2000, maryland at the kickoff classic in Giants stadium in ty's first year, and last year i took my brother to his first game against navy again at Giants stadium) and lastly my sis feels the same way my mom does, she'd rather see them win but really doesn't care. However everyone of my friends knows i'm a huge ND fan and they really bust my balls all season, so it's been pretty rough lately. I need a payback season this year. COME ON BOYS!!!!! GO IRISH!!!!!!!

Irish fan 85- I'm basically in the same boat as you. Growing up in Cleveland, most of my family and friends followed the Ohio State Suckeyes. I did not and still can not stand that school. It was hysterical to see all of the Clevelanders jump on the OSU bandwagon when they won the NC. They are a joke. I have always stood by the Irish... good or bad!!!! I now live in Oil City PA where most people are split between Pitt and PSU (although most people in my area care more about the NASCAR points leaders than football). I have managed to convert a few Irish fans up here, but I do take alot of heat for Irish losses (especially when I told everyone that I was going to the ND/ Pitt game last year). To them I say, that was then, this is now. We are under a new regime and the troops are fired up and are ready to unleash HELL. GO IRISH!!!!

college football-wise I'm pretty much in the majority in my family. My brother-in-law is the only one who really doesn't like Notre Dame, but he really doesn't watch college football much so he really doesn't have a "favorite" team that I can get on him for, he just doesn't like the Irish for some reason. I'm getting him back though, I'm teaching his son to like ND and I bought him a #10 jersey...

I do feel your pain when it comes to baseball though. I'm a Met fan in a family of Yankee fans, it really sucks. My dad and sister both used to be Mets fans back in the 80's (you know, when they were good...) but the turn-coats both root for the Yankees most of the time now. Most of my friends save one are Yankee fans too. Guess that's just life when you're a Met fan living in the shadow of NYC though...
