Amen, for the exception of Brady Quinn. I feel sorry for him to play with all those girls on his team.

im sorry, but i really must not understand what you guys mean. The players that were recruited by this crappy coach, and then came and went to 2 straight BCS bowls for us. Im guessing if you dont want to hear their names you want C.W out as coach also? sorry im going of on a rant, but im really sick of people calling out our senior class, Quinn or no Quinn, they had to go through coaching changes, times of misery, etc.

Agreed. A lot of us are fed up with being big game doormats, but this class had some great players.

I read in one of your earlier post that you drank alot, I guess that would explain this post (your drunk)! I think these guys have won 19 and lost 6 in the last two years plus 2 BCS games. Go cheer for another team. Go IRISH! Thanks for the last 2 years of excitement seniors.

All is history, coach Weis has done a very good job bringing in quality players. I strongly believe things will change by 2008. As for the graduating senior, I believe they gave it their all and I would like to thank them for two good seasons.

The players can usually only play as good as they are coached/taught. ND has an obvious problem on defense. It might takes players, it might take coaching, but something has to change.

No, I'm sick and tired of being nice to the Bad News Bears.

This is the last time I think of this group of players besides Brady.

I didn't see a single player who was not trying their best. I saw effort and passion. I am terribly disappointed that we lost, and were perhaps even embarrassed by a better team, but let's not personally criticize these fine young NOTRE DAME MEN who devoted 4 years of their lives to the University. Who spent long hours on the practice field and in the weight room, who made personal sacrifices to play for our University. And who did their best, even if it wasn't quite good enough.

They did try tonight...they did NOT come out flat...they played hard and they got beat. In fact, the 1st half was a pretty tremendous half.

However, we all know that while there are a good 8-10 NFL quality players on ND's team, there are another 12-14 who really should not be playing as starters for ND...

All but for a lack of depth...

Agreed. The kids played their hearts out (which is why it was close in the first half). The talent and to a certain extent defensive coaching simply isn't there.

Brady played poorly with protection and a solid running game. Simply unacceptable from your senior leader.

Brady played poorly with protection and a solid running game. Simply unacceptable from your senior leader.

brady came out of the gates a little too tight, and overthrew a few receivers. he settled down late in the first quarter.

before you hang him in effigy, however, consider the fact that shark's intentional taunt in their first drive cost them 15 yards and drained their momentum. that drive took ten plays to go 15 yards.

in the same drive, freeman drops an easy catch for a first down that would have moved the chains.

later in the first half, brady delivered a touchdown pass perfectly that actually hit shark on the top of the helmet. the pass was uncontested by the defender.

the number of passes that should have been caught in the second half but were dropped because receivers heard footsteps or failed to look the ball into their hands before turning up field are too numerous to mention.

brady's biggest mistake of the night was his decision to force the pass instead of throwing it away on his first interception. the second one is on mcknight. there's no reason he shouldn't have caught that ball. the deflection ended up in an LSU player's hands.

I was very disappointed in Brady's performance last night. His accuracy was not there. He was overthrowing guys even when he had great protection. The OL played great last night in the 1st half. They got dominated in the 2nd half. He was late on alot of passes last night too. It was frustrating. Carl Goia still sucks.

Big,

There were a lot of things that went wrong last night, and you mentioned many of them. McKnight was probably the worst player on the field (with at least 3 drops). But, Freeman would have been tackled before the first down, Jeff lost the ball in the dome, and the touchdown to Grimes was a bad pass. So, who knows.

I don't know what went wrong, but I think that it is time for a fresh start, and CW knows it. That is one of the reasons why we saw many of the juniors and sophmores leaving the team over the past year. Many of those players were even less talented than the senior class.

I look forward to the growing pains next year, and to the role of underdog.

This class had some great players???? They did? WHO? Besides Brady Quinn who was average at best people if you think about it. How hard is it to break that many Notre Dame records when Notre Dame doesnt play anyone???? WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE and just admit that Notre Dame IS OVERRATED. I tell it like it is and I'm NOT TROLLING so I dont want to hear some of that bullshit run out of some of your mouths. #1 We DID NOT belong in that goddamn bowl PERIOD!!!!!! #2. RICK MINTER NEEDS TO BE FIRED. PLAIN AND SIMPLE, and if goddamn Charlie FUCKING Weis doesnt start winning the big game then I'm sorry then he needs to go as well. THIS IS JUST FUCKING ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT!

I'm also on the side of "they gave it all they had&and I'm proud of the young men". They work their butts off for tough demanding coach. They work their butts off in the class room-GPA of 3.0 for the team-no such sat for LSU. Fine young men. I know it hurts to watch for the thrid time this yr the Irish get pasted like last night. When the coach(TW) not recuit well, or in this case at all bad things are going to happen. Thank God we have CW. GO IRISH

Thank god we have Charlie Weis????????? He hasnt proved anything to me yet. I like him and He's doing ok in recruiting but until he beats Usc and wins a fucking bowl then he's just like Ty and Davie people.

Dude, take a valium.

3/4ths of his players are Ty's recruits.

I think that he did quite a bit with the overall lack of talent on this team. Two years ago, would you have guessed that Jeff was an All-American? No way.

His tough decision will be on the defense, and whether to keep Minter.

Eh, while I'm not on the "Charlie is God" bandwagon quite yet, I'd still say there are two pretty big differences between Charlie and Davie/Willingham. First of all, I think he's doing a bit better than "ok" in recruiting the last 2 years. There's only so good ND can do in recruiting since they're not allowed to take guys who can't read & write, but he's managed to have a top 10 class last year, and what looks to be another one this year. That's an achievement I know Willingham never accomplished more than once, and I'm pretty sure Davie didn't either, unless I'm mistaken.

The other thing is, while they haven't played as well in the big games, they've been far more consistent overall. Notre Dame no longer loses to teams it absolutely should beat. They may get blown out by USC, but they will never get blown out by Syracuse again by the looks of things. That's a product of good coaching imo.

Its ok not to over-hype Charlie, I can understand that. But don't swing too far in the other direction and say he hasn't done more in 2 years than Davie or Willingham ever did, b/c I think its pretty clear he has. Is he Ara Parseghian yet? Absolutely not (and I'm willing to admit he may never be...we'll know in a couple of years imo). But is he as bad as Willingham and Davie? Again, I'd say absolutely not (and I feel pretty strongly that he will never be).

Great post Aerosmith 777. Charlie has a lot to prove but is ahead of Davie and Willingham by far. His true judgement comes in 2-3 years tme. We need to start seeing improvements with his talented incoming classes. He has a tough decision on the Defensive side with Minter. I say make the change and set the tone that these performances won't be accepted.

Hell, I'll take it even further with you. Charlie keeps losing to teams like Michigan, Michigan State, USC, LSU and Ohio State. Pathetic! At least under Davie and Willingham, we only lost to teams like Purdue, Pitt, Syracuse and BYU. Ty already has a job, but Bob's available. BRING BACK DAVIE!

Oh, and to the first poster, I agree. Good riddance to a group of players that's gone 19-6 in 2 years, brought us some incredible game day memories and was a yard away from upsetting TEH BESTEST OFFENSIVE JUGGERNAUT EVAR. Awful.

{/SARCASM}

Honestly, how have so many people on here gotten ahold of so much Stupid Juice today? I oughta go buy stock in whatever company produces that stuff, 'coz they must be having record sales today.

you are an idiot if you truly mean that. Everyone of those guys sacrificed so much over these last 4 or 5 years. and that doesn't just include Brady. and believe it or not, I guarantee that this loss hurt them more than it hurt you or me or anyone else on this board.

exaclty. of course I'm sad for myself. But I'm mostly just sad for the players. seriously, they've put up with and overcome so much garbage, they deal with so much pressure, they work insanely hard on and off the field... they didn't deserve this.
