Looks like Corwin Brown made Charlie get some "High Profile Stud Hosses" on Defense. I Love It. Now we need to get some Offense. I want some good recievers about now starting with Floyd. I want him badly. Then Butler he's got "Big Play" Potential. They say this Baldwin kid has got game and is a freak on Offense. I thought he was gonna be a TE but from the film I saw on him at WR looks good. We need a couple more Offensive Linemen too like a big Offensive Tackle. Forst would be a good pickup. This could be one of the best classes I've seen in a long time. Look Out The Condums of U$C HERE COME THE IRISH!!!!!!!!!

------------Us? ND? want offense instead of more defense for a change? NEVER would've thought that day would ever come, but it's very welcomed. We'll probably take 1 more offensive lineman and 1 more D-lineman. I say 1 more LB, I prefer an OLB followed by two WRs, 2 CBs and McCarthy if his little heart desires.

Can't believe they'll take many more. Like to save 5 slots (2 DB, 1 RB & 2 WR) plus maybe one wildcard for a late elite signing.

The caliber of recruits we are likely to land are so good that it makes you wonder if they would decline some previously assumed 5th year returners.

CB - 1 or 2 Blanton and/or (Jeremy Brown, Xavier Brewer, TJ Bryant)
S - 1 or 2 Slaughter, McCarthy? (hold one for Will Hill)
LB - 1 or 2 Filer or Sabino, hold one for Arthur Brown
WR - 2 Hopefully Floyd and Butler (Gerrell Robonson, Baldwin)
TB - 1 Carlton Thomas or (Cyrus Gray / Ryan Williams)
OL - 1 or 2 Page or Patchan, hold one for Forst?
DT - 1 or 2 We hold one for Forston and take another DT (Lewis-Moore, Goebel, Johnson, Aghayere, Jones)

That is 8 more on the low side and 13 on the high side. We are already at 14! I think the guys we get are listed above. It's just a matter of who wants to come to ND. CW has to decide which positions he wants to fill or which guys are just the better available or how many schollies does he leave open for guys like Brown, Forston and Hill. Does he take a high number and recommend transfers and decline 5th years. It's a great problem to have.

OK. Which 9 would you like? If you are CW, how could you orchestrate getting those 9. At 23, how will you make room for that many? Not trying to berade you. I am really just curious. It is a complex and interesting situation. If I am a recruit, I commit before CW has enough time to figure it out and put the freeze on offers.

Frazer will probably transfer so that will help and I'm sure he won't be the only one either. I see 22 commits this year, anything over that we're going to need a couple of transfers.

I know I'm like the only one who thinks this way, but it's just hard for me to accept three WR's in a class especially when we have so many other needs depth-wise. I know everyone thinks we only have crap receivers right now and so we really need better talent there. But still three in class seems like a lot when we only have 20-22 to take each year. Maybe a every other year or every three years you could do it, but I'd almost rather have an OL or a LB given our depth chart.

I'm probably more optimistic about some previously unknown receiver stepping up for a bigger role than most are as well... :shrug:

I doubt ND will be going hard after Forston now that they have Hunter in the fold. The bigger need now is for a pass rushing DE ala E.Johnson, or someone similar.

If we can get Forston, I say we get him and worry about DE next year. He's too good to pass up. He'd be the best d-lineman we have. We're looking like LSU did last year at d lineman.

We don't want to have a "Heavy" D-line class this year at NT and have difficulty selling playing time next year. From what I've seen and heard it is not out of the question for Forston to play DT/DE.

The D-Line class is looking strong. The thing is this could be one of the finest dline classes I've ever since in a LONG time. We have to get Floyd and Butler they are going to give Jimmy along with Duval some big time targets like the condums have had.Our recieving core is not all that talented. I thought Jackson was gonna be special but now I have a new nickname I saw him in the Spring Game and his new name is Teflon Jackson I hope he gets a pair of sticky hands. I said at the beginning of the season we need Defensive Linemen Corwin Brown did his job. Now I'm going to say we need recievers. I will be in heaven if we land 2 of the 3 guys I mention Floyd, Butler and Baldwin. We need to get Filer on board. I don't think Forston could be Irish but with the guys we got now with Hunter and Newman them 2 alone give us a heck of a run stuffing crew. We need to get Blanton and Slaughter. I'll bet well take at least 25 or 26 players this year with the same as always with 3 guys enrolling early for scholarships. But right now I'm loving this recruiting. We are gonna be special very very soon.

Remember there are limits on the number of players both taken in a year and total number of scholarships on the team. Other teams can take that many every year, but that is because they have players that drop out of school, get kicked off the team, or leave early for the NFL draft.
