Well this isnt a surprise.

Its a good thing we have Floyd and Rudolph for another season.

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. Rudolph was so injured in the Stanford game he basically had to hold his arm against his chest, yet he played because of CW. There is no guarantee that any of these players stay committed to the school. I pray and hope that we keep the talent that we have, but I don't want to keep my hopes up, only to have them crushed again.

Good Luck Golden. We may have just witnessed the most exciting Notre Dame football player in the past 20 years.

Im all but sure there will be some transfers.

I think the guys just want to make it through the hire and evaluate their options at home during the Holidays.

now the fact that we are forgoing a bowl game is even MORE of a glaring mistake - tell me honestly if anyone out there would NOT have wanted to see Clausen or Tate play one more game in a gold helmet. I know all the reasons people have argued why we are better off not playing in the post-season this year - well, I'm sorry, but I disagree entirely, the team needed the practice, and it would have been right to send Tate and Clausen out with a W, instead of an embarrassing loss at the hands of Stanford. Just awful how far we've fallen.... we have very little to look forward to now, unless we hit a home run with this coaching hire.

I don't see them transferring - then they can't play next year and that costs them even another year before they can go pro.

Right. Both are 3 years and done type of players. Meaning either they will have to wait 2 years to get to the draft, or go to the draft next year after sitting out a season. Neither will happen. They will both play for the Irish next year.

so, with the rumors swirling about Shaq Evans and the many ND fans wondering about his playing time decline, as well as Deion's...looks like we will see much more of these two, including Goodman and/or Toma. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

This year has just been traumatic, seeing Coach Weis at the Press conference was nice, Golden and Jimmy really emphasized how much they will rely on Charlie to help them figure out where to go next. Im truly saddened, Growing up withCharlie, Golden, and Jimmy is all I have really ever known, man this sucks. But you can bet I will be first in line to grab these guys' jerseys for whomever they play for. GOOD LUCK JC, GT, and CW forever a fan of the Blue and Gold!

I am beyond sad now because my boy is leaving and because my IE tag is now irrelevant.

Possible new tags:
Crist will save us
ZEKE and DESTROY
Floyd fills the void
Duval dont drop the ball
Kelly Green

and my personal favorite - TATE COME BACK!!!!!

Golden turned into one of my favorite all time players this year. I'm gonna miss the swag. I wish him the best in the NFL.

(why did no one call Golden a baby for crying like Tebow?)

Does this mean we get Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate avatars now?

Re-establishing the question

Because we all know Tate is a beast, and he cries because he got something in his eyes. If Chuck Norris has $5 and Golden Tate has $5 guess who has more? Golden Tate.

I got a chance to see Golden leave his dorm, Keenan Hall, for the last time. The last couple weeks, on multiple occasions he has made himself available for signing autographs. While some might think that seems cocky or something, with Golden it is truly because he likes giving back to a University he feels like has given so much to him. He is definitely loved and embraced by the student body, because he has done the same to us. He wrote a really nice note/autograph for my little brother as well! I know we will all be very sad to see him go. However, we are all very excited to see what he can possibly do in the pros! (with the Packers and the Lambeau Leap.....) Hope this helps everyone to appreciate the kind of "Notre Dame guy" Golden is.
Also, he said that he is almost for sure not coming back next semester... as expected.

Just to add to what BearGB has said. Golden truly is a great kid. Every time i have gone to visit the past two years, i stayed with Golden and my buddy in their Dorm room. He is very confident in what he does, but NEVER came across as Cocky. Just extremely fun loving and a genuinely nice kid.

He has been struggling quite a bit with leaving his friends and the people at Notre Dame, but he is definitely doing what is best for him. And like the rest of you , i CAN'T WAIT TO SEE what he does to the League next year. Cause it WILL be huge.

GT reminds me so much of a Josh Cribbs type of player. A do it all type of guy who could be slotted anywhere on the field. Wish the kid nothing but success in the future. Look forward to seeing you in a Cleveland Browns uni next season........ ;)
