Hey guys, headed to ND this weekend. Wondering what would be the best place to park on Friday night if we want to check out the campus and bookstore. And then also for game day on Saturday. Any where to park for free and walk a short distance? We'd like to avoid paying 25 or 40 dollars if we can.

You can always park at the bookstore on Friday night for free.

For Friday or Saturday, if you drive a couple blocks south on Notre Dame Avenue, you can park on the side streets for free all day. It's a residential area, but it's free and not terribly far from campus in the grand scheme.

Good luck with that.... lol White field I think is 20 and there's a shuttle from the library to the front of White.

St Mary's is $20. (At least it still was during the Purdue game)

It's a bit of a walk. But the path to notre dame is so beautiful. My favorite area on campus.

well, back in my day (a few years ago), the bookstore lot was free. It does fill up, but they did overflow parking on the basketball courts/grassy area back there. just pull in the main drive and take the second left after the cemetery (i.e. past the guard house). if that doesnt work, there's always D6. D6 located off of 933 on the west side; pull in at the WNDU sign. While technically student parking, i've never heard of anyone getting a hard time for parking tehre (and i've known a ton of people who have done it, even for an entire gameday). park in the lower lot toward the back to be extra safe. You can also see carroll hall and walk along the lake while you're over there.

calm down they call it rape road cause it's an isolated, dark road that almost no one goes to. I'm sure the lol was more about the reference to the road name than laughing at rape.

Thanks. I have a few friends at Saint Mary's and they joke to me about the name of the road. Im obviously not laughing about rape..
