I just found out a kid I taught, Brice Butler, has committed to USC. His dad played football for the Falcons and went to FSU. I taught three of his kids and when he would come in for conferences we would talk about college football. I remember telling him I was brainswashing those boys to go to Notre Dame but apparently I failed miserably.
However, Bobby was dead sure his kids would play football at Florida State too.

of all the schools, USC. The funny thing is I remember telling his dad that he needed to "toughen up" a little because he was always falling down on the playground and wanting to go to the clinic.

I just read that link about Brice. wow. I can see where a kid would get that kind of attitude considering where he went to high school and how much attention that has been lavished on him in Atlanta the last couple of years. His dad has is a very nice guy but also a little flamboyant too. Brice is a very smart kid and would have done fine at ND.

I ran into another kid I taught who is playing for Georgia Tech and he told me about Brice committing to USC. He smirked a little when he told me and said "we will see how that works out".

On monday one of my students stated he was a USC fan and that the whole Reggie Bush thing and SC cheating was a matter of opinon... I quickly weighed in my head if it was worth the potential trouble with his parents... and then made him sit in the corner the rest of class...

another true story... my school is broken up into teams of four teacher wise... two of my team are men as well... one a die hard Notre Dame fan... one a die hard Jayhawk fan

They sound like smart men, kinda like us.....this year is freakin me out, usually right now I am trying to figure out what bowl game the Irish are going to and what KU's preseason basketball ranking will be. It's nice to still have the hawks playin for something, hopefully in the future the Irish and Jayhawks will both be in the top 20, i can see that day in my mind and it will be glorious!

at least Brice didn't go with an SEC school. i could not have stood that.

I will continue my efforts at converting these little SEC heathens, one first grader at a time! There is the bell, have a good day!
