Floyd seriously needs to finish healing. Anyone blessed with the gift of healing? Please make a trip to South Bend ASAP.

Alot of wishfull thinking out there. Reading boards with fans hoping for some type of Willis Reed moment.

Floyd will get a scan on Now. 2 and could actually be back for Navy if he gets cleared

Wouldnt he lose his medical redshirt though? I say leave him on the sideline and get him 100% healthy. The collarbone is a very easy thing to re break. It would be suicide if you ask me.

He isnt going to need a medical redshirt. We will be lucky to have him for 4 years, let alone 5. And dont you think the coaches and medical staff will wait until he is 100%? Of course they will, which is why he is going to be re-evaluated on November 2nd, and then a decision would be made.

NDOM,
You are not serious about your "medical redshirt" comment are you?? If so, your marbles are loose. This kid is going NFL after next season regardless of medical redshirt. Use him while you have him. There is no way he remains in South Bend unless he gets seriously injured and ends his NFL chances. If he left after this season, which he can't, he would be a top draft pick.

Why does everybody see him not using up his four years of eligibility?

Agreed. Especially after he worked his butt off during high school to be in a better academic school (I know it was good in football too) when he could have went to a lesser school that was good at football easily. His family has always talked about how much it values education too.

I guess he could try to graduate early though.

Err... A lot of money? If these kids are being told they will be first round draft picks, especially high first rounders, you are leaving millions of dollars on the field if you get injured in year 4. Anyone who thinks that Floyd will be here after 2010 is fooling themselves.

Guys,
I think some of you are drinking so much Green Irish Kool-Aid that you have lost your mind. Floyd will be a 1st round draft pick after his Junior year. WHY would he come back as a Senior??? To get his degree?? He will have plenty of time to get that during summer before his NFL rookie season. Should he stay to make all of you happy??? Sorry, NOT!! I am the biggest ND fan there is, but if I were to have a vote whether he should stay or go, I would vote NFL!!! He is taking way too big a risk staying for a 4th year. Get out when you stock and health are still great. Good Luck Michael!!!

I don't see his mom letting him go early, unless the degree is taken care of. That and I will miss him.

Because its Notre Dame and we often geraduate players. I do not see him staying all 4 years but i would not be surprised

If Floyd cared about money, he wouldn't have sent back the $400 I sent him last month to buy his mother a nice dinner.

Or, he was worried about taking $ from fans and being spanked by the NCAA.

Floyd has proved two things while playing for the Irish, he is an incredible receiver and that he is very fragile. He will leave the second he can to secure the big bucks and who could blame him. He hasn't been able to get through his first two years without injury, and to come back as a senior would be crazy. Mom will be ok with him getting his degree anytime he feels like it with the money they will be throwing at him.

I made sure to right his mother's name on the envelope...

According to some posts on GH, he was running routes and catching passes today...

Don't get your hopes up. Collarbones are very tricky injuries. And while he might have seen limited action, I wouldn't be putting in the line of fire to get teed up on. Teams will be aiming for it.

Didn't the USC receiver (name escapes me and I'm lazy) who had the same injury - get hurt last week of camp - and he's returning this weekend?

i thought by time Floyd is eligible to go pro there would be a rookie cap, or whatever the exact term is. that's why so many people feel Clausen might leave after this year because if he is projected high this would be the last year for guaranteed money. so what would be the point for floyd to leave early if there is no guarantee. but i'm not positive on the whole cap for rookies thing, and when it would be implemented.

I personally don't believe Michael Floyd gives a damn about money.
