I like Teo at 17 and next year in the top 5 and Heisman contention. I said 2 years ago he will be the first true defensive player invited to the ceremony in 40 years. He may win it if the stars align correctly and Notre Dame wins games in a big way. The sportswriters may be ready for this -- we will see.

Love Te'o, but I don't think he's a finalist for the Heisman. That's going a little too far. Defensive player hasn't won it since 97 and I don't think a LB has never won. Now if you said he'd win the Nagurski or Butkus...I'd have to say he has a great chance.

I saw Koyack on TV this year (in HS as I noted). I saw Eifert bouncing back from a major back injury and stepping in admireably for Rudolph. I saw nothing of Welch. No tapes nor articles which was why I noted we'll have to wait unitl Spring Ball to see.

I don't know whose is better and I don't think anyone outside of the coaching staff does either. Hence the inquiry about who are the "insiders".

IF Mike Ragone's knees are healthy, he's probably the best TE on the team. But until I see him running in Spring Ball like he did when he tracked down the DB from behind and I see him hanging on to more passes, I won't make that claim. I'd love to see him go out on a high note, playing to the expectations of 5 years ago.

Regarding Welch I have seen tape on him and he seemed to me to be a very high quality tight end and I came away very excited about the fact that he is at Notre Dame. He was also a concensus 4 star, top 10 tight end. When watching the tape on Koyack I did not feel he was so much better than welch that he would start over him. However, I am in complete agreement that Eifert did an awesome job this year and he will almost certainly be the starting tight end next season. In my opinion Welch will be the back-up though and Koyack will red shirt but again just as we both said only the "insiders" will know for sure.

In terms of Ragone, I really do not know much about his recruitment or expectations as I did not follow Notre Dame recruiting at the time he was recruited. However, I will believe you if you say that he had high expections but has been burdened with injuries. As you said, I would like to see him go out on a high note as well.

Martin is too low at 52 (I know, scUM, but he's a stud)
Tank Carder is too low at 49
Crick is too low at 25....

And how the hell does Barkley crack the top 20???

And I love Floyd, but #2 BEST PLAYER IN CFB??? I don't know about that one.....
