Beats a Weis practice.

Put one of his versus a Kelly practice side-by-side and you'd think the Weis practice was going in slow motion.

They'd show receiver drills where one receiver ran through the drill while the other ten just stood around waiting for their turn. It was pathetic. No energy.

And I definitely cannot wait for the new video. Wednesday, conveniently, is the first practice in full pads. I'm so pumped.

I just noticed this at the very end on the hand off, Dayne looked really fast going off the other direction, he was wearing his brace but it didnt seem to effect his play

Can someone please get me whatever diet / workout regimen Jonas Gray was on this offseason? Kid looks diesel. I expect him and Cierre to get a large portion of the carries this fall.

I watched him in his state championship game in high school, and even back then his calves were about seven hundred feet around. It was unreal.

i won't be disappointed seeing DC keep it and roll around the end like he did at Purdue. He will keep defenses honest with his mobility.

I'll be very happy to see Dayne handing off to a stable of RBs, in between hitting the stable of WRs, and the stable of TEs. I like the threat of his mobility more than seeing it. I still remember his last demonstration of mobility.

The most mobility I hope to see from him is sidestepping a blitzer on the rare ocassion that he has the ball long enough for a defender to get within an arm's length.

Practice under Kelly: FAST FAST FAST

You have to be in shape just coach at ND now!

Also LOVED the energy of the fellas. Lots of hootin' and hollerin', followed by sprinting and what seemed to be a ton of effort.

Can't wait to see what these boys do when they put the pads on for the first time this Wedn, and then of course Sept 4th vs Purdon't!

Oh, and just a heads-up...enjoy these videos and practice reports now; Kelly allowed the 1st 4 practices to be partially viewed and reported on, and then he's closing up shop - especially when the season starts. UND.com will be the only crew with video...

Like the energy of the coaches and players. Te'o got some big ass calves...

Interesting that you would mention the calves. I caught part of the spring game, and other than wondering why the hell I was sitting at home watching a spring game, I noticed massive calves on several of the players. Believe it or don't though, I was a bit alarmed by that.

On the "surface" I do like what I read about Stewart's pull ups (chin ups - which one is it Dishands?). It indicates balance in lifting. Too many young dudes want to focus on bench and curls and maybe some squats. Not enough back work, triceps, and hamstring exercise.

Balance.

Crunches. Lower back lifts.

Good Mornings. I workout with a guy who can do 315lbs good mornings.

Danger among lifters is the challenge to "do more" or "lift more" for no reason at all other than lifting more to look good. The "good mornings" exercise pains me in the fact that it is a dangerous lift for the inexperienced. I would recommend to the non football athlete to simply do the exercise with zero resistance or weight.

I knew a high school coach who had inexperienced athletes do lunges with weights on their shoulders. Lunges alone are tough enough. One athlete, trying to impress the coach, keeled over after quick fatigue and broke his nose.

PM me DirtySecret. I'll give you some personal stats.

I do. Basics. Fundamentals. That's me.

I do more core training. Pull-ups and push ups, though I hit the gym real hard. I'm more worry about being cut than adding bulk. Though this winter I'll trying to add weight about 20lbs.
