Fearless Prediction...

Charlie stays for one more year which equates to riding out his contractual agreement due to success. We spend a lot of money to bring in a high powered, well disciplined defensive coordinator that coaches well. Upon hearing the good news, all of our recruits decide the stability at ND is in place and decide to go ahead and come to South Bend. Golden Tate, Jimmy Clausen, and all others decide to weather another year in South Bend.

All Weis haters are silenced and none call them out due to the fact we are all ND fans and don't need verification of "See, I told ya so" expert-eeism. No more BS talk of "writing on the wall," or "yesteryear expert" short comings.

We finish next year's season 12-0 and head to the NC.

*I have asked Santa Claus and the Lord above for these things. I have been a faithful fan this season and have lived by the golden rule to speak (type) only when I've got nice things to say. Do please grant me this wish, as my discipline and actions should be rewarded accordingly...

Blessed be the critics. Here's a slightly to moderately sarcastic write-up by Fiutak. Have a gander. There is a bit of truth in sarcasm at times.

I can wish. Gotta love the "writing on the wall" cliche'. It reminds me much of "Another day in paradise" cliche' I hear at work. I want to choke the next guy that says it.

Oh yeah, here's the article:

We just lost 4 straight winnable games, I've seen enough of the koolaid for this year. It's over. I applaud Weis for his effort and wish him future success.

Here's a report on ND assistants calling around for jobs to NFL friends: Scout.com: Charlie Weis Profile
Doesn't look promising for Weis keeping his job.

The only strong points I can see about some of our asst coaches has been their recruiting. Teaching them the fundmentals and getting the most out of them has not happened. That goes for Hart and Verducci too. They will all get a nice little severance package.

I understand you're mindset. I too have been frustrated. I just feel the potential is there with Chuck. I think he's needs to be tempered and is actually in the process of doing so. All we need is a defense. Honestly. Everything else in place. If we don't get Meyer, Dungy, Stoops (Bob), Gruden, Kelly (Brian), or Petersen we have no better option.

The fishbowl that is ND is too much for many coaches. Furthermore, many coaches cannot even begin to succeed in this environment. I would dare say five of the aforementioned names wouldn't even do as well as Charlie has. I won't ever play the "told ya so" card though. I'm a homer through and through. Just as General Lee defended Grant once he became President of the United States, I support our coach; 110%.

Here's a fearless prediction for you:

Tai-ler Jones has a 1,000 yard season next year.

IDK man. Jones seems legit, but what of this Shaq Evans? Wasn't he supposed to be the next coming? I hope they both, nay all three including Floyd have 1000+ yard seasons apiece. Actually let's put Rudolph in the mix as well. 4, 1000 yarders is capable with big Dayne should we lose JC.

As much as i wouldnt mind getting Charlie to stay at this point, especially because it looks very much like we are not gettting Meyer(my pick), i dont think it is going to happen. Too many losses, too little defense, too much let down in the ND nation.

He is gone. He has represented the ND community very well, and has put the team in position to win and win big. Its sad it wont be him holding up that trophy with his players, but he understands the value of winning and the fact that he hasnt produced what was needed.

Exactly. I thought he had that in Corwin Brown, i really did. He brought in Tenutas blitz blitz blitz scheme and it hurt. I liked Corwins play calling style the previous two seasons, but the defense was on the field the whole damn game so the numbers in the 4th quarter made it look bad.

Got another pipe dream if stoops comes, isnt he a defensive guy? He can come in and take over the defense, leave charlie as the OC and Rob Ianello as the Recruiting COordinator. Yes, its never going to happen, but its like a wet dream of mine. CW would stay, defense would be sured up, possibly JC and Tate staying....... i can only dream though.

CtoF are you cheating on shaq already?

Shaq will have a 2,500 all-purpose yard season and a Heisman Trophy under his belt. Followed by a 3,000 yard all-purpose season and a second Heisman in 2011, and a similar performance and a third Heisman in 2012. He will go on to break every NFL receiving record. After he dies, he will ascend to play for God's personal football team (The owner/General Manager/Head Coach/And Quarterback), alongside Golden Tate and George Gipp, among others. Oh, and God's got a cannon.

Bring back Weis and you are looking at another mediocre team. There is nothing to suggest otherwise,no matter who comes back. With Weis in charge there hasn't been a respectable defense put on the field.

I really, really, really, can't understand how ANY ND fan could want Weis to stay at this point. Seriously, I understand it sucks but do you really want more of the same?

I just have this gut feeling we may have another year... not saying it's good... history says it will be another gut wrenching year. I've walked out of the last 2 home games, and wailed through Pitt and Stanford on TV, however, it's not my call. I support the team. The ship will be righted and I hope sooner than later. But another year of the same would not surprise me.

In case you've forgotten the last hiring round we had, great coaches aren't exactly drooling over our fishbowl hoss. Many greats get offered or asked if they're interested only to imply possibly to feather their egos. The reality sets in based on media hatred and school along with fan expectations and they give the cop out just as Urban and many others have in the recent past.

Who will be our saviour? We have a role in Sainthood for the man. But I feel like we were competitive this year and really just needed defense of the form relevant to mediocrity in order to have been in NC contention. Of course I've also got a wish in one hand and spit in the other.

P.S., also please don't address a terribly aggravating statement in the form as the one before. I have to let you know I would love to reply in "flaming" context since you're calling me out. If you have something unpolite to reply, do so in classy fashion my fellow fan...
