I hope to see benson do well in the nfl. he is great, and i would like to see the bears get him. i still feel bad for the bears that rashaan salaam didnt work out a while back. i had hoped he would be pretty good. derrick johnson is an awesome football player. he has this patented move when he tackles players and swats the ball from their arms, its freakin awesome.

Not only Salaam, but Curtis Enis, Cade McNown....oh how the list goes on. Benson will be the guy I hope, but the Bears LOVE Cadillac.

Johnson is flat out awesome. I think I once watched a Horns game just by accident and was amazed by him. Went out of my way to watch them for the rest of the year. He won't get past Romeo and the Browns. If he's available at #4, I hope the Bears grab him. He and Urlacher would be a force with Lance Briggs.

oh yeah I've seen him do that last year to Jason White in the Red River Shootout.

What do you guys think of this Matt Jones character?

Matt's stock has soared. He might be a late first rounder now. Guy looks like a great athlete, if the right coaching staff picks him up, and knows how to utilize him, he'll be awesome....

yeah I agree, being a Steelers fan, and picking at 30. He is being considered. We have already drafted Ward and Randle El, former college QBs, so the coaching staff knows how to develop them.

Where did Matt Jones come from? I can't believe some of the things I've been reading. What a freak!

being in the south, i see alot of sec games. and in the past couple years i was always impressed in what this guy could do. it always blew me away to never hear anybody really talking about this guy. he is a serious athlete. for as big as he is, he is wicked agile, fast as hell and can pass like no other. he definitely has to get with the right coaches in the nfl. if not, it could become disasterous.

I would love for the Steelers to take him in round 2, but hes too risky for round 1 I believe.

If you were the 49ers who would u take 1st overall?

Been a 'Skins fan since early 80's. Obviously, I loved Theisman. Also Riggins, Art Monk, Dexter Manley, Joe Jacoby, Russ Grimm (& the rest of the Hogs) and the Fun Bunch, et al. Praying that Gibbs can right this ship!!!

If the Redskins draft wisely and Ramsey plays well then I think the Skins will be back in the palyoffs for sure.

The eagles look like they'll take a shot at him late in the first round. The Eagles have alot of draft picks the first 2 or 3 rounds, so they can take a stab at him.

I heard Jones is the first guy to weigh over 240lbs and run below a 4.4 40 time (4.37) in NFL history. Having Jones, Owens and LJ Smith would be a sick passing attack. Nobody could cover those guys, if Jones is the real deal.

I would try to trade for more picks, niners have so many holes to fill. Looks like they're taking Alex Smith, which is a huge risk in my opinion. Smith was very good in college, but I don't trust him doing it in the NFL because of the gimmick offense he played in college. Rodgers stock has fallen big time, he may fall to the Packers at 24. Strange, because Rodgers had a better combine then Smith, Rodgers has a stronger arm as well.

Peter King said the Niners felt Rodgers was a little too cocky, and he scored low on his wonderlic test.

As a Bears fan, the fact that Rodgers fell all the way to Green Bay is sickening. This guy is better than Smith. The Pack will bring A.R. in under Favre and ease him in. The Central should have some good QBs for years to come....Grossman, Culpepper, Harrington, Rodgers....

Just wondering who is your NFL Team and why? among us Notre Dame fans.

Im a diehard Steelers Fan, it was a little tough to see us bring in Weis (I dislike the Pats) but if it means big things for ND im all 4 it.

:gbanana:

Chicago Bears. Besides I don't think any other team has had more :reporter: ND alum on the rosters over the years than the Bears.

If they stay somewhat healthy I really think the Bears are gonna do some damage in the NFC North this year. Also I think your right Jigga, Rodgers having some time to develop under Favre will be so good for him, he should turn out to be an excellent quarterback.
Unfortunately the Bears will have to meet him twice a year

I think my Giants might be up there too in the recent past. I mean, Luke Petigout, Dusty Zeigler, Mike Rosenthal, Lance Legree, and now Justin Tuck and maybe Ryan Grant. Big Blue seems to have had a lot of Irish players pass through the system recently.

IGGLES!

I live in the middle of Steelers' country and all the black and gold here is insufferable! It seems every high school around here uses the same colors.

I was born and raised in Philly, so I bleed Iggle green, the real Kelly green, not the new green. Bleck!

Grossman will be the key Luck. Otherwise, you're going to see Kyle Orton much sooner than you think. Benson and Jones will be a good battery, but C-Ben will eventually be the guy. I watched tape of him in the 2003 Texas A & M game....he hits the hole hard and goes. I think he's a step above the A-Train.

Defensively, they're very solid. Urlacher, Briggs, Harris, Ogunleye and a healthy Mike Brown. The O has to pick up the slack, though. Hopefully Mushin has 100 catches and 1000 yards.

If they can get any kind of passing game going they'll be fine.

Kellen Winslow Jr. TE Browns got into a motorcycle accident, hes pretty hurt, I knew this guy would be trouble.

As a die hard Bulls fan, watching Jay Williams ruin his career was heartbreaking. Winslow, on the other hand, is a jerk. It is certainly a terrible thing for him and the Browns fans, but this guy could be a victim of karma.

I really think The Chiefs are gonna take the AFC West this year, with Derrick Johnson, Kendrell Bell, Pat Surtain and Sammy Knight being added to that Defense, I believe they are legit.

Jigga- Whats the word on Williams these days? is he playing anywhere? attempting a comeback?

excuse YOU, sir! apparently you haven't fully experienced the inimitable and awe-inspiring juggernaut that is... the SAN DIEGO SUPER CHARGERS!

actually, the AFC west will be much tighter this year, as the chiefs (who should be vastly improved on defense) will be tough to handle. if priest holmes stays healthy they're going to put up points. the chargers will field almost the exact same team on both sides of the ball, so they are a known quantity to the rest of the division.

the deciding factors in the AFC west will be:
drew brees - can he maintain his level of play
and the KC defense - will they hold opponents under 28 PPG - because if they do, they'll win a ton of games

Jay Williams is still rehabbing and hopes to be back in 2005-2006, or last I heard. I'm not sure if that will be with the Bulls or someone else. My guess is that it will be somewhere else, but I hope that they give him a shot.

Derrick Johnson to the Chiefs at #15 was the steal of the century.

Derrick Johnson was a steal he looked great in every game I ever saw him play.

Jay Williams will get a shot somewhere, he wont be back with the bulls.

The AFC West is the closest division IMO

lmao @ Pargo

when I think about it actually if Williams did come back the Bulls would most likely be the first team that gives him a look.

He was at the game last night, Jay Williams that is. He will be back for the 05-06 season and the Bulls will give him a shot. I can't see him being what he was, but he should make the team.

Pargo answered the call last night....and he's a Chicago boy.

I doubt his long-term future is w/ the Bulls though. Hinrich is becoming one of the better PG's in the league, and they have a solid backup in William's Duke-mate Chris Duhon.

I always like Jay Williams, going all the way back to when he was playing here in NJ for St. Joseph's H.S. & was named high school player of the year his senior year, so I hope he can get completely recovered in time and reach his potential somewhere. They love him here in Jersey, so maybe he could sign on w/ the Nets? Could learn from J-Kidd for a couple years while he continues to rehab from his injury & maybe when Kidd retires he could take over. That would be cool. The Nets could use a backup PG anywhere. Never got how the kid could be dumb enough to do something like that, he always seemed like he had a good head on his shoulders. I mean, he graduated from Duke in 3 years. I guess everyone makes mistakes, too bad his cost him so much.
