Oh yeah, and that '93 BC team was actually pretty good, FrankMA. I believe they finished in the top 15 in the final polls, with Glenn "It's a damn shame" Foley and Mike "All Combine" Mamula. This year's Eagles are a shell of that team.

15 years later a lot of ND fans seem to think ND lost to App St or Toledo. BC was a very formidable team in '93. They were 9-3 under Coughlin that year and finished between #11 and #13 in ALL the polls. Two of the losses were to #15 Miami and #6 WVU. BC opened the season with a pair of losses then won 7 straight before coming to South Bend.

They averaged 34 points per game while giving up 20. The week before the ND game they shutout PIT 33-0. The week before that they hung 48 points on Beamer's Hokies.

The week after BC's "trap game" upset of ND, the Eagles got "trapped" by WVU 17-14 ending their 8 game win streak.

The '09 BC has no Foley, no Mamula, and no Coughlin and ND's will not be ranked #1 following a victory over the Trojans.

The game does follow USC on the schedule, that's the only similarity.

I like the idea of a trap game. Usually that indicates we won the previous game, i.e.-USC. What a monkey off our backs that would be.

Oh god!!!!!!! So true!!! It seems like the Irish ALWAYS manage to pull some crap like that...
