I moved Lorenzo over... hopefully he sticks and Clarence Lewis can move to safety.

So, currently right at 85?

I'd imagine if there are going to be post-spring transfers, we'll know over the next three weeks. Gives coaches time this week to have conversations with guys about where they stand, and gives guys a chance to figure out what they want to do over the last few weeks of the semester.

The question is: what position(s) could see potential transfer portal help added, and how many spots does the coaching staff see as being *actually* available before outgoing transfers are official? I'd imagine the coaches might still try to find a DB that leans toward being a safety, and mayyyyyybe a WR if the name is right.

No way Keanaaina is our starting NT. He only played late on Sat with the scrubs.

Use the roster spot on another safety or 2. Areas of need for this team probally 1-2 Safeties, 1 WR, 1 OG, Maybe one DE/DL guy for depth

From what has been reported via spring practice reports and staff interviews, I'd be surprised if they pursue a DL.

A tad bit surprising, but not shocked. Making room for the freshman linebackers - who need as much p.t. as possible. They are athletic and need reps.

Prince had a TD in the Clemson game, correct?

For every guy they bring in, one on the roster has to go. We are at 85 right now. Who are the four or five who get pink slips?

What they are making room for are the fifth year seniors, Liafau, Kiser and Bertrand, to hold on to their jobs for another year. Prince didn't want to wait. I really don't see Liafau being better than Kollie but I guess you have tp trust the coaches.

Ok. Who are the 3 or 4 to get rid of?
They don’t have to get rid of anyone.
Every summer & fall ND loses players.
Lou Somogyi did a breakdown before the 2018 season about it because ND was at 87 going into fall and people were freaking out. ND got down to 83 and awarded two walk-ons to get to 85 over fall camp.
Lou showed how ND (like every team) loses a handful of players every year from the end of spring to the cutoff date at the end of fall camp.
ND was at like 95 after the bowl game and already down to 84 in Spring.
They will bring in 2 & probably still finish under 85 and award a walkon in the fall.

I'm expecting another departure from the OL, maybe the DL as well. Could be down to 82 by fall camp. Maybe they bring in a safety or two. Give a deserving senior walk-on a scholarship.

Curious. What makes you think this?

There was smoke around Keanaaina since bowl practices. Carmody is perhaps the 5th guard, maybe 6th.... not sure where they are in pursuit of their degrees, but if they both are on the way outside looking in as seniors, I don't see how they stay.
