I'm more of the opposite opinion.
Give me the players like Jones, Toma and Riddick...the guys who can take a screen pass for 30 yards or burn past someone in the slot for a big gain.
Losing Kamara hurts, and he is a good blocker, but where would you have put the over/under on his receptions?
2? Maybe 3?
yea...I see what you are saying...and short of something like what Jonesman said about using Smith, that may be the only choice we have at this point...so I hope your opinion is right.
It looked to me like the combination of power run, and some opportune play action passes over the top were the mix we were looking at...IMHO Duval and Floyd were the right guys to make that happen...as well, its hard to key on floyd on 3rd and 5 or 6 with Kamara and Eifert there too...all big bodies/ big targets that can run short routes and "box out" and get the first down yardage....even if they need to drag some folks with them.
Finally, I tought Duval was going to light it up because this was his last shot to show something on a big stage for the NFL folks...maybe he gets a shot anyway...but we won't be benefitting from a heightened sense of urgency in the process.
I guess we'll see...still sucks to even have to think about this...Duval, Duval, Duval.
