You can leave food right on the edge of the counter and Ruby (our Redbone) will stand there, but won't eat it. I've trained her so she doesn't eat anything including her food until I say the magic word.

I don't understand why she sees the counter as fair game. She doesn't beg for our food and she eats at her bowl when we eat breakfast and dinner. Perhaps because I didn't catch her in the act quick enough to teach her "no" the first time.
