I will start believing if we beat Louisville and Syracuse. Pitt was a good win but they are obviously on a downward spiral. If we beat or at least compete against Louisville and if we beat Syracuse I will start believing.

Ok, Debbie Downer! First you thought ND was going to lose last night. Now Pitt is going on a downward spiral. This was the Panthers' first back-to-back loses this season. So I don't think they are going on a downward spiral, as you claim.

Give ND some credit. They are an excellent team that is going to be dangerous down the stretch. Especially with Tory Jackson playing the way he is right now.

I'm just not going to get my hopes up like last year when almost everyone was saying that we could be a sweet 16 maybe even a final four team and then we played a little team called Winthrop. Woops.

Winthrop was a team last season that beat good teams, and everyone in the media was saying the team that no one would want to play in the first round. Unfortunately, ND got that draw. Plus the Irish were seeded horribly, you can't deny that?

What I'm saying is that ND is going to get a good seed this year, because they are playing really well and are finally getting recognized as one of the better teams in the land. I guess we don't need anymore fairweather fans.

In Pitts last 10 games they are 5-5 with loses against Cincinatti 13-13 (7-6), Rutgers 10-17 (2-12) and Villanova 16-10 (6-8) and you wouldnt call that a downward spiral??? Oh by the way Pitt was ranked as high as #4 this year as well. I would say thats a downward spiral. just sayin.

Then why were they ranked all season long except for this week? Prior to this week, Pitt was ranked in 109 of the last 118 national polls. Didn't they beat Duke too? Just sayin!

They beat duke in week 5 or 6 I believe. I'm just saying Pitt is in a downward spiral because I believe they didnt have on of their star players and they have had alot of bad road losses without him as well. They were ranked as high as #4 when they beat duke now they arent even ranked. They have lost to some pretty bad teams too. I'm not trying to argue with you bew602. I just want to see us beat a team that is on the rise like Louisville. Syracuse would be a good win too and a good run in the Big East tourney would be much appreciated as well. I'm just too nervous to get all excited like I did last year. I hate being disappointed thats all. Lets just see how we do against Louisville. It's a good team and its on the road. That would be a great win to get us going even more before the tourney.

Pitt got Fields back two games ago. Even though he is still not 100%, he played. The Panthers also beat Georgetown on Jan. 14 with a depleted team too, so that point is moot.

Let me guess, you're a Brey hater too? He's only the second coach in ND history to have 5, 20-win seasons in eight years. The other was Digger Phelps.

Nope. I like Brey. Sometimes I question his coaching at times just like I do with Charlie Weis but who doesnt? I think Brey sometimes lets his team just shoot and not set anything up. But all in all I love Mike Brey. Hey man I love you too. Lets not :starwars: anymore. :rotflmao:

I really think NDOM loves the Irish. I think he doesn't want to feel disappoinment after having his hopes built up. I sure have felt that way.

Let's beat Syracuse on Sunday and Jim "salome" Boeheim! Please pray for me, too. There is a ND fan in section 111 who sits near me. She admires Syracuse a little too much. I will have a hard time holding back if she compliments Boeheim and Syracuse in the heat of battle. To me, there is only one team to root for in the heat of battle - Notre Dame.

Ive always believed even when this team lost to GT and Baylor(who is very dangerous and will do damage come tournament time). I really believe they have a shot at the elite 8, but definitley the sweet 16. Next year there is no reason they shouldnt make a final 4 run only losing kurz

I believe that Tory Jackson is a first rate point guard with an All American heart. I believe that Luke Harangody is well on his way at being something special. I believe that Kyle MacAlarney is improving as an all around player. I believe that Peoples and Ayers are developing, but a year away. I believe that Kurz is sound, if not spectacular. I believe that Hillesland is, and will be an adequate supporting player. I believe that Zeller is a perennial mystery and a disappointment, playing, I take it, as a 6'11" shooting guard, for no apparent reason. I believe the ofense is at its best in transition, and getting better in the set play context, but still not top notch at the latter. And I believe Mike Brey had a good night last night, but quite a few poor ones this year, too. His major challenge is to prevail upon Zeller that it is absolutely mandatory that he play like a big man. We'll need better than 12 minutes, two points and one stinking rebound out of him this year, and will DIE without it next year when Kurz is gone.

I did end up going to a game this season against St Johns. We went down with the Jackson family and we got to meet all of the players on the team and their parents. It was a great expierence and eveyone was really nice. I think the guys could win a few games in the tourney this season! Hopefully they get the midwest region so they can play sweet 16 in Detroit so I can go to that too!

That sounds like a good time goirish. And that would be sweet if they made it to the sweet 16.
