Do we run the table?

Rest of the season there are some good teams but nothing like USC again. Can ND keep up this level of play and win the remaining games?

BONUS QUESTION:
Can it win by blowouts?

ND will lose one more game to a team it shouldn't. And there will be no blowouts, well maybe WSU, but do they really count anyways?

Agreed, maybe even 2 more (BC, Pitt, Stanford). 8-4 was my guess at the beginning of the season. Gator Bowl or Cotton Bowl if we are some how affiliated with Cotton. I'd prefer Cotton. I'd rather see a Big 12 or SEC team than an ACC team like Georgia Tech.

Here are my predictions for the rest of the year:

Boston College - ND comes out firing. Clausen has an outstanding game.

Washington State - Tate runs rampant with over 200 yards receiving.

Navy - With Floyd, blowout. Without Floyd, blowout.

Pitt - With Floyd, we win by 2 TDs. Without Floyd, we win by one.

UCONN - Blowout.

Stanford - Close victory. Clausen to Floyd for the winning TD.

Oh yeah, I wanted to mention that this defense needs to be referred to as Tenuta's D for the remainder of the season. Why, when the defense plays well is it called Tenuta's D and when the team plays bad it's just called the defense?

Tenuta get the ownership in the good and bad in my book....and it's been mostly bad!!

Next week is a trap week...coming off a big game with the nation watching and all the media attention...We need to be focused and stop a streak

Hey NDMontana nice to see you, havent heard from you since the last time we lost.

I wanna say ND runs the table from here but its hard to say because the team looked absolutely heartbroken after today.

I think too much is put into the media, the hype, etc. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is talent and experience. And ND has the better combination of the two against every single opponent from here on out.

The team also seems to be getting better every week. The defensive line looks to be taking the next step, and did well against a talented USC team.

Navy - With Floyd, blowout. Without Floyd, blowout.

Pitt - With Floyd, we win by 2 TDs. Without Floyd, we win by one.

UCONN - Blowout.

Stanford - Close victory. Clausen to Floyd for the winning TD.

USC - This was the best chance we've had in years and they did not take advantage. A true freshman quarterback against a potential Heisman finalist.

BC game will be a tough game - like always! What's on paper when it comes to this game doesn't matter. BC was outstanding yesterday.

Washington State - The only blowout for ND this year!

Navy - you think these boys won't play hard knowing that they pulled off the impossible? I wouldn't count them out in this one.

Pitt - Sorry, Pitt pulls this one out.

UCONN - Close game but ND wins

Stanford - I don't think ND pulls this one out. They will not see this as much of a game and get caught.

I'm not on the band wagon for Charlie over this game: 1) I didn't think all along he would pull this out whether it be by 3 points or 30 points as some have said, 2) I think he should be gone for he's entire record.

I'm sorry, when I watch Texas, Alabama, Florida and the likes, I just can't help believing that ND would be completely blown out in these games. ND struggles with teams they should dominate and that just isn't going to get it done. I've even heard that we still have some of Ty's players and that's the problem. Honestly, how many 5th year seniors is Charlie playing? This is his team and he is just not getting them to the promised land, now or ever.

I don't know how many threads I read where we were going to win and now it's, "well we were really in the game". I'm sorry, I've been a ND fan for 50 years and I don't want to be "in the game" anymore. It took Ara, Dan and Lou only three years!!! And don't give me this crap about what they had to play with, Lou came in after Gerry! I think Charlie is a wonderful person, and you know what, so was Gerry. I don't want a wonderful person, I want a head football coach that can coach. Yell at me all you want, but bottom line is that we are a good football team and that's all. I think we all deserve better!!!

Great to see you too!!

JC was inconsolable, didn't even take off his helmet for the alma mater. This could be a tough loss to bounce back from because the players probably realise that this was their one shot at an impressive win, at a signature win for their coach, to cement themselves in the Top 15. When you lose by one second and 4 yards it can be devastating.

I guess we have to hope that junior and senior laden team--who have seen plenty of adversity--can bounce back and move on from this. Of course we saw what happened when the 05 and 06 teams lost to SC: their performance level would drop off.

Gotta hope....right?

On the contrary - after the devastating loss in '05, the Irish pulled themselves together quickly and rattled off very impressive wins against BYU, Tennesse and then, when it counted the most and their backs were against the wall with a BCS bid on the line, a come-from-behind, last minute, game winning drive against Stanford on Thanksgiving weekend. That showed a lot of heart, and I would venture to say that THIS year's squad has shown even more heart, and I believe will respond favorably to the disappointing loss to SC.

Stanford is good, that game worries me a lot. Even years where Stanford is bad we had very close escapes out there. Conversely I was not impressed with Pitt but its at Pitt and they will act like its the super bowl like all teams do when ND comes in (but ND is irrelevant blah blah blah)

Play one game at a time. It's BC this week, that's all they need to be concerned about .... that's the bottom line!

Every remaining game will be won or lost by no more than a touchdown. I will be completely gray headed and have 3 ulcers after the regular season. Clausen will throw a last second touchdown to Rudolph to seal the bowl win as I simultaneously die of a stress induced stroke.

I think we have a good shot, the teams everyone seems to worry about (Pitt and Stanford) have fatal flaws. Pitt still has Stull back there passing and played a close game against Rutgers, Stanford just lost to Arizona and their QB torched 'em for over 400 yards. On the flip side we have played everyone close so far this year and we'll get both of those teams best shots. I don't mean to look past BC, they always play us tough as well and I think we'll get their best game as well. I think we win all 3, but the defense will definitely have to show up for the Stanford game.

We better, we have a whole bunch of average teams left on our schedule. If you lose to average teams, what does that make you?
