I haven't watched his high school film in a long time, but from watching what little we've seen out of him in spring ball, B&G games, and with a couple appearances during games....doesn't he seem to come across like a bulkier possession reveiver a la Duval Kamara?

Walker was known to have a great combo of size and speed but it seems like Kelly wants receivers who are deadly fast (Toma, Jones, Riddick) and not the bigger guys with good speed (Walker & Goodman).

It sure is interesting.

I've heard that Deion Walker has blazing speed, and outruns the secondary...he just can't hold on to the ball. Supposedly, he has a terrible case of the droppsies. Probably all mental, if he can climb that hurtle, he should be a good weapon.

Sounds like a safety to me. Give it a shot put em back there...can't hurt to try can only help what little depth we have.

From the guys who get to watch him in practice (when it was open), they said that he simply just doesn't have the 'want-to' gene. He just doesn't get after it, and he isn't very hungry...he doesn't have the same will to be great that the "RKG's" that BK wants on his team do. They also say his h.s. comp was very weak.

I've never heard that he has blazing speed, but that's not to say that you are wrong. I just know that there are guys in every class, in every school, that coaches just whiff on, be it b/c of talent or desire or whatever, and Walker seems to be one of those guys. I've given up on him long ago...I hope I'm wrong; but considering 2 coaching staffs had him nowhere near the 2-deep and everything else I've read about him, I'd say the odds are that he never sees the field for meaningful minutes, sadly.

For what it is worth he is a really good kid and humble, I've talked to him a few times. I'm not his best friend so maybe it is a "front" but I see him as a good kid/guy.

When it comes to the field I think he has the talent but he wasn't the all star right away like he could have been. He just got passed by the more talented guys, Tate, Floyd, Kamara, now Toma and Riddick. I am not saying he wasn't given the proper chance, but once you get passed up at the D1 level it is hard to make up that time.

i am not sure what is goals are but if he tried to make it in a league, maybe not the NFl right away I would be confident that he could land on a CFL team or the other league that escapes my mind.

Man it would be tough if I'm a GM of any professional league to take a chance on a guy who has garnered as little playing time as he has. He would have to do something freakish at a combine or tryout to make up for the lack of game film.

Maybe a lightbulb will go off and he starts to perform at the very least on special teams next year.

You know what I do give this kid credit for never complaining or threatening to transfer. He seems to have no issues of the field and is receiving an excellent education. He seems humble and has gone about his business in the right way.

Ditto for sure great point!! Very rare nowadays. Becoming very easy to jump ship quickly when things don't go your way, especially when a new coaching staff arrives.

Not everyone can play, but when we landed the 4 star kid and beat out Penn St., I sure felt he was going to play, but younger receivers have passed him up. Really too bad.

Yes it is a rare quality nowadays. Walker is kind of the opposite of Evans to me. Evans bolted when the going got tough and he didn't get any playing time. At least Walker is doing things the right way. I really would love to see him emerge and get some playing time. He just needs to work hard at it and want it bad enough.

I didn't mean get drafted or anything, but slowly move up like so many other people have. Not to compare the two but Matt Cassel hadn't played since highschool and now he is a starting QB for the Chiefs, so it can happen.

But when it comes to Walker, I am not saying this will happen but I could see it happening by slowly moving from the practice squad to special teams and so forth. If he even wants to pursue that in anyway.
