My surgery is at 5:15 pm tomorrow evening

And after midnight I can't eat anything or drink anything til after my surgery.

WTF that gives me 7 minutes to eat for the next 22 hours.

*scarfs down all food in sight*

Thanks - they just called to move my surgery up an hour. So at least that's one less hour I have to go without eating.

I had my tonsils, adnoids and uvula (yes, that little punching bag in the back of your mouth...everyone get their mind out of the gutter) all removed at one time a few years back. It was awful....but the liquid vicadin was nice!

Good luck...it'll all be OK.

The uvula is used to make sure that water and food, while swallowing, does not enter your nasal cavaity.

Yes....after my surgery, whatever I was drinking would trickle out of my nose...especially if I was looking forward and down. It was great for beer...I got to drink it twice!!!...do you get more f'd up that way?

Just an update:

Surgery went off without a hitch - though it took an anesthesiologist and an I.V. specialist 45 minutes to find a vein for my IV. Ended up going in at my wrist just barely after 4 other pokes in other areas in my arms.

I'm in an incredible amount of pain but it won't be long before the liquid vicodin kicks in.

Mmm, vicodin...
