Use some of the money they saved by not buying out Charlie to locate and recruit the No. 1 offensive line coach in the country.

Pay the guy double or triple what he is making now, to get him to come.

This simple step, alone, will dramatically improve the offense next season.

I've actually wondered why they don't do this for a long time. I mean, seriously...what would it take? You would think if money were the only issue (which, of course, it's not) they would just target the best position coach in the college or pro ranks and say "What's it going to cost?" This would tremendously improve Notre Dame football because as much as we all like to say Charlie's the problem (and in large part, he is) he's also only as good as the position coaches he surrounds himself with. I really wish we could have had David Cutcliffe come on as the OC back when they hired Charlie. I was very excited about that hire at the time because the man knows offense and is a credible name in the coaching world.

Screw giving money to the coach... let's just do was U$C does and give the money directly to the recruits to come!!!!

(Or to an agent... who indirectly channels money into an offshore account).

OL coach should have money deducted for every missed block. Hell, keep Latina for all I care. If they go with my plan, the money they make off Latina by the end of next year would be enough to pay for the buy out of CW's contract next year.

In the meantime, they should only pay CW when he wins a game. If he loses, he gets nothing.
