Tebow sucks. If he was on a team without a huge supporting cast, like Notre Dame, he wouldn't do anything. His spirals suck and he has absolutely no arm. Hawaii even said that Clausen was the best quarterback that they had faced all season...and that included Tebow.
Clausen and Crist are both going to be better than little Timmy Tebow.
Tim Tebow does not suck. You make ND fans sound stupid and jealous when you say that.
By your supporting cast argument. one could say the same thing about Jimmy. "W/out Tate, Floyd and Rudolph, Jimmy would suck." Jimmy has some weapons too, you know.
Now, Tebow doesn't have the greatest arm in the world, and yes, he has weapons around him. And no, he's not God's gift to football as ESPN and CBS would have you think. BUT, the guy is a damn good football player. He won championships in h.s., and he's won 2 rings in college. He's like a LB playing QB; he is just a load to bring down. And he makes the throws that need to be made for that offense; he gets the ball to his playmakers and he doesn't make huge mistakes. And when his team needs a first down in a huge spot, there isn't a QB in the college game today that I'd trust more. Not even close.
The dude is a great football player. To say that he sucks is completely off-base. 2 NC's, one as the starter, a Heisman trophy and a finalist for another, and we're not even done yet. You're better than that dude. If JC had those kind of stats, even with all that talent, we'd be ready to kill someone if they said he sucked.
Now, to SoCal's point that he's not the greatest, well, he's right, we need to take a step back and let it savor for a few years. There's been some damn good QB's that have had incredible careers. Leinhart was unreal in college, as was Young. Now they're forgotten just a few years later? But just because Tebow's the latest, people want to annoint him the greatest. I certainly don't think he is the greatest QB nor the greatest leader. But he is an outstanding leader, I don't think there's any argument there.
And that speech he gave, sorry, but that was friggin' fanstatic. Overplayed, yes. But he said it, and he backed it up w/ a national championship. If JC or Crist or Montana or any ND QB ever had a speech like that, hell yeah I'd want that thing immortalized. Knute Rockne anyone?...
