I don't subscribe to any pay sites, but I believe Mattison was recruiting him. I believe that is why he is now looking at Florida. From what I've heard, D.J. Hord is a strong ND lean and Evan Shapley is close enough to David Grimes that we won't lose him. We could end up with all three receivers. Hord is a stud, bar none. And some believe Nelson is the best receiver in Texas.

I did a trial subscription for a pay site once and cancelled it. If you are a hard-core recruitnik, it can be fun. Watching videos of kids playing highschool football and the accompanying print magazine are solid perks. The downside is that everything is sensationalized and the only 'articles' are quotes from a 30-second phone conservation with a highschool kid. Everything trickles out eventually and nothing is official until a letter is signed, so I just can't see the point in paying some random guy for the rumors I will eventually hear anyway.

Their is a free article on Irisheyes.com on him.He gave ND a 30% chance.I almost think ND may not want him that bad.He seems to be spinning in the article.I kind of hope weis tells him to get on or get the hell off.If things keep going we will have a top twenty class.That is more than I ever expected this year.Go to Florida nelson and tell urban we said hi.WE need guys with charecter.

Nelson's been one of the most impressive WR's in practice for the all american game this week.

He's gotten stronger, gained a few pounds. Reports say his hands are amazing.
catches everything in sight. Rivals said they've ranked him too low, need to rank him higher.

Also Florida has recruited some great receivers over the years. Why would nelson want to go to Florida with all those recievers there.

At ND there's no doubt he'd be a starter by his second year. Florida doesn't make much sense for him.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing the other day and believe it has to be someone in his ear, maybe Urban, maybe family. Not really sure, but I do know it doesn't add up.

Whatever the case may be, even as talented as he seems to be, I think he'll be lost down there. You can only put so many receivers out on the field and for him to differentiate himself from the rest of that group is going to be difficult.

Iowa is another "doesn't make sense" pick as they are stocked with young WRs, like 5-6 FR or SO, and they already signed two more in this class. Would be another bad situation to put himself in unless he was just that confident in his abilities.

In the end, I hope Charlie or Haywood gets on the horn and gets him here. We'll see just how much Haywood "owned" Texas if he can pull Nelson here. I wouldn't be shocked if he picked UCLA to be honest.

Question,If we don't get any of the big names we are after and close with some two star players,How do you think charlie did.It seems we are banking a lot on these guys and are setting ourselves up for disappiontment.I think we are a lot better off now and headed in the right direction no matter who we get.On that note I think we will land Hord and the patriots will win.

to be honest, i could care less if nelson commits elsewhere, as he is obviously not sold on ND. weis came in with two strikes against him already, so this recruiting season should not really be judged in any negative light. we can make do with one sub-par recruiting class due to weis' late initiation because we know that next year's class will be top notch. i am more concerned with the long term health of our football program versus one late-start makeshift recruiting class. charlie's class will still be leaps and bounds better than what TW would have done.

I dunno just reporting what i read. But to be honest with you from what i read, this kid may be irish, HE has stressed in the past how education is important, well ND is the 18th best college in the country.

I'm sure KSU is a fine college, but it ain't no ND.....

Does he know Ron Zook got fired after 2 and a half years. Ron Zook at least brought in top recruiting classes at Florida. Why doesn't he say the same thing about Florida. Quotes like this make me wonder if he's a fit for ND.

At least ND didn't fire Ty during the season, like florida did zook.

exactly, and who is this 18 year old kid to say what is professional? thats some word he heard someone else use on espn. look, this kid is acting like he is the best player out there, and everyone should want him, but im happy with hord. if he wants to go to florida to play with crooks, let him. when he is riding the bench his junior year because of all the talent in front of him, he will regret ever making that decision.

So he didnt like how ND fired Ty? So it would only make sense to goto Florida who didnt even wait till Zook's third year was over. Just goto Florida, stop dragging it on. Its to the point I want him to leave. This is all a power play to make this little kid feel special, he's just dragging it out to keep the spotlight on himself. I agree, I was a big supporter of this kid when alot of people here were saying nelson should leave. But after reading that quote, it pissed me off. I now kinda feel he should leave, what he said was a knock on ND.
