Cutcliffe has strong southern tie's, years at tennessee and ole miss, would be great for recruiting.

Appears to be a done deal. According to ESPN. I can't believe he's coming to ND. This guy would've gotten another head coaching job somewhere. He was one of, if not the best OC in all of college football when he was with Tennesse.

He's coached Peyton Manning, Tee Martin, and Eli Manning. Wow what a friggin get this guy is.

Al Golden is also said to be on board. He's one of the best recruiters in the country. Owns the whole east coast. Won't be with us long though, he'll be offered a head coaching job at least in a few years.

If these deals are done, which I think the Cutcliffe deal is, all I can say is Merry Christmas! My excitement level is going up more and more everyday. Weis, Cutcliffe, Golden sounds like a winning combo to me.

What about our defensive coordinator, is he going anywhere? are we getting a new one? We can't have the offense get better and our defense suck....we don't need to have a shoot out here to win games..... :cheers:

Golden is pegged as the lead recruiter AND defensive coordinator (he's a good one).

Golden not coming. Daily progress states how Virgina has offered him a 40,000 dollar raise. And the Virgina sports paper reports his quote that he's not coming to ND.

I wanted the guy, but if he's not coming thats fine. Charlie Strong is interesting. Nice recruiter.

i thought i heard something about the rb's coach from texas...who is an ND alum...i don't know...i wish they would announce something, soon!

Can't recall the name, but this rings a bell. I think I heard this somewhere...ESPN 1000 perhaps.
