Per ESPN ....
Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis is interested in the possibility of coming to Chicago, and he is currently holding off pursuing a similar role with the Kansas City Chiefs because of Tuesday's developments at Halas Hall, according to a source close to the Bears.

That could be interesting to see if CW could control QB Jay Cutler's head-strong demeanor!

For the Bears and Chiefs sake, I hope that "role" is NOT a head coach position.

Both Lovie and Todd Haley's jobs are safe. Both the Chiefs and Bears have O-coordinator positions open.

Meh. As a Bears fan not sure how I feel about this.

Chicago, my guess, is Charlie's first choice. It's close to South Bend. He can make that commute easily. His family is staying in South Bend. Charlie Jr is in high school and the fam is dedicated to Hannah and Friends. Weis also talked about he and Maura wanting to retire in that house in south bend.

As a Bears fan & a fan of CW's ability as an OC, my fingers are crossed. Bears haven't had an offense to speak of since 86. Really can't make it worse. Seems like a win win to me.

I wonder if Weiss taking a pro job will releive ND of some of the burden in paying off his contract with ND? Anyone know!!

As a Bears fan, I would be ok with having Weis. As long as he is OC, and that's it.

I think Charlie is a good offensive coordinator but, the Bears identity as a franchise is running the football and playing defense. Jay Cutler was bad, but the O-line didn't exactly help him out. In my mind Cutler would be best served "enhancing" the O, rather than being the centerpiece. Da Bears need to get back to running the football. Something Charlie's teams didn't exactly excel at during his tenure at ND. Don't get me wrong I feel Charlie could improve Cutler's game, but I don't think it is as important as supporting him with a smash mouth attack.
