I saw "Facing the Giants" last year. That movie really hit me hard. As a coach and a teacher it really helped me change the way I go about my everyday interactions with my players and students.
So, when I saw the first previews for Courageous, I started looking for it to come to a local RedBox. I rented it last weekend and was really pleased with the movie. I'm young and not a father, yet...but as someone who is in a position to be a mentor to a lot of "fatherless" young men, it still struck a chord with me.
It was a great movie. IMO, I'm not certain it was overtly religious, as some may suggest. Maybe at the very end, but mostly it just showed, as someone else stated, the true responsibility of a father, or a father-figure.
