I'll be watching the entire series of Arrested Development, work at The Ohio Union, watch my Buckeyes stomp Marshall Thursday night, drive home to Toledo on friday night to hop in a car Saturday morning to drive to South Bend for...drum roll please...

...my first Notre Dame game, ever. As a Subway Alumnus '02, I'm pretty excited to make it to a game finally. :)

Watch a game Friday night. Thursday watch the Pitt. vs Utah game since they are the two toughest teams on our schedule and see how well they do. Wake up early Saturday watch ND hype youtube vids and do shots then heading out. Don't know how many Purdue fans our down here in Indy because I have never went out for this game.

My brother went to Purdue, Its a good thing we aren't watching the game together, I'd be liable to run him through a wall if he got on my nerves. Nothing like a little sibling rivalry!

These threads about what we nutjob ND fans do on game day/ first day of the season are always my favorite posts. I love hearing what you guys do and will continue to ask for older guys' advice on how to advise signigicant others/ girlfriends how to dael with us during the season. My girlfriend and I got in our first little tiff the other day because she wants to go fistpumping at the jersey shore this weekend, to which I quickly replied there was no way in hell I wasn't watching the first ND game of the year in my own house in my own chari with my 42 inch flat screen. She doesn't get it...yet.

Friday night: scouting for local high school team I volunteer for

Saturday morning:

8 am breakfast

9-11 am gym/ college gameday on tv at the gym

12: shower

1230: brats on the grill

1:00 eat

2:00 call my 83 year old irish grandmother and say good luck (family tradition)

2:30 ND pre game playist on ipod

3:00 get man room ready

3:30 insanity

Wow! There are a lot of you from NW Ohio here. After watching the Buckeyes on Thursday, I will watch the University of Toledo on Friday. They actually got Arizona to come in to the Glass Bowl! After a few weak years, they should be back. You all should check out a young Rocket wide receiver named Eric Page. I would love nothing more than to see the Rockets light up an overconfident Pac 10 team! Stranger things have happened!

By Saturday, I should be watching football at full speed. We will watch the game with half ND fans, 25% Buckeyes, and the rest Michigan fans. We will crowd as many UM fans in as we can. I can’t even wait for NEXT WEEK! We're gonna start messing with their minds this Saturday!

Yeah I went to Toledo until last November. I even sent Derek Roback a Facebook message saying "Do not go to Toledo! This place sucks!" the day Brian Kelly gave him an offer while he was still committed to Toledo hahaha so I give myself credit for his switching. ;)

If Eric page wasn't dumber than a box of rocks he'd have played in the Big Ten. He's the real deal in my opinion.

I'll be watching Pitt-Utah on Thursday, since we play both of them this year.

Friday night is Rudy night.

Saturday will be College Gameday in the morning, any game at 12:00 (they all suck), and the best team in the world at 3:30. I can't wait.

I also tend to go on a bit of a spending spree to update my Irish wardrobe. I just bought this sweet lid from lids, it might have to make an appearance at Giants Stadium vs Navy!

Plans?

Well Thursday I'll probably be watching the Titans/Saints pre-season game but only cause my bud is HUGE old saints fan and I'm a Huge Titans fan and anytime they meet is reason for us to get together regardless of season status! However like the rest of you I'll be keeping my eye on Pitt/Utah and prolly the Ohio game just cause they are pretty big contenders for the NC this year.

Saturday? Oh Lord save us all!!!!!!!! Gonna get that drunk and out of control I probably wont come to until next Saturday... just in time for Michigan, HA!!!

Got the antenna flag up on the car already, and I got a brand new 5x3 to bring down to the bar with me on gameday. Can't believe we've waited a whole year, but these few days seem twice as long!!!

7:00 AM Gym
8:30 Breakfast
9:00 Shower and get ready
10:00 Gameday-Start cooking Making a great dip will give recipe at end.
11:00 Guests arrive
11:01 First Beer bong
2:00 Probably getting a little too fired up maybe a little loose
3:00 Madness until game time

For the dip all you need is 2LBs of hot sausage 2 16 oz jars of medium salsa, if you would like it hotter go with hot, but based on experience it actually tastes better with medium 2 boxes of velvetta cheese. First obviously brown the sausage and then throw all of the contents into a crock pot on high with a splash of milk and cook until all is melted. Once melted turn on low and enjoy. Scoops are the best with it. I recommend everyone tries it, its fantastic.

Taking my 3 year old to his first Irish game Saturday (and yes he is a pure redhead). We have been watching a combination of Rudy and a "history of Notre Dame " video we have. Other than his confusion about Jimmy Clausen no longer being the QB he is pretty excited. I plan on driving in the night before because we can't wait that extra day to be in God's land!! GO IRISH!!

If Eric page wasn't dumber than a box of rocks he'd have played in the Big Ten. He's the real deal in my opinion.

We were all glad to see Derek go Irish. There is a group of us, UT grads, instructors and employees, (with the Medical School), that pull for UT when there is no issue. I still think Derek has what it takes to be a lights out safety at Notre Dame.

I guess Toledo, or the University sucking is your opinion, and everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how mono-syllabic, or negative.

But as far as Eric Page. He is plenty smart. Just not disciplined. And not too mature, guess what, he's nineteen. I know someone who called and spoke to a member of the former ND staff, and it is true, ND was tracking him but couldn’t have taken him. But several schools in the Big Ten could have, but didn't offer. At the time he saw an early comittment to UT as being of benefit. And that seems to be okay for logic, the scouts will see him. Lance Moore, Chester Taylor, Brad Gradkowski, all did okay. (For example, how many MAC quarterbacks are playing in the NFL today?)

Eric spent his freshman year at St. Johns Jesuit. Getting the score to get in there on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam puts him in the top third, off the bat. What he chose to do there for a year and at Springfield, was something else. He had too many well-wishers, who blew smoke somewhere. I bet he wishes he had it do over. By the way, he had three games his junior year where he scored 7 or more touchdowns, (I said games). Interestingly enough he was second team All-State to Dan McCarthy that year.

Now as far as the rest: I noticed another post by you about Mr. Glenn. Someone already pointed out the stereotype in your response on that one. Do you have a problem with those of a different background, so to speak?

You know that have PM's for a reason, right?

I was rather excited about going to Toledo. My sister was on the track team, I was on a full-ride to Toledo, and was going to walk-on to the football team with my friend Eric McCloskey (1st team state in '06, given a preferred walk-on after he torched all of the "college-bound" players in the NW Ohio all-star game and won the MVP), he decided to pursue pre-dentistry so he quit after a week. Then I ruptured three discs in my neck so I decided to coach at Toledo Libbey instead.

But I enjoyed Toledo very much initially, but that changed with time. The Art & Sciences college, and specifically my major (Geography & Planning) was pretty atrocious. The students were pretty content with mediocrity if they weren't in a medical field, engineering, or pre-law. All three of my roommates dropped out, of course they were on a full-ride simply because they were from Toledo Public Schools and couldn't handle any homework or responsibility.

Then there's how ghetto the neighborhood around Dorr Street is. I was jumped last November by some guys trying to steal my marijuana (which I didn't have, because I don't smoke), I ended up wrecking his face and all, thank God I'm 6'2 220lbs :) , but that feeling of walking on campus and being jumped is not a good one.

So it's not very surprising all of my close friends from UT transferred, to Colorado State, Ohio, Cal PA, and Ohio State, respectively. I'm sorry, as mono-syllabic as it is, Toledo sucks unless you're in the medical field or engineering (exception being the Business School and Law School on the graduate level in my opinion).

As for Eric Page, he's a stud. I'm not sure what you're saying. Michigan was sniffing around toward the end of his days at Springfield if I remember correctly, and Scout.com says he had a Nebraska offer. Getting into St. John's isn't all that and a bag of chips. I went to Maumee Valley and then St. Francis, both are better or as good academically. I meant to say dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to Nebraska vs. Toledo, or the possibility of Michigan vs. Toledo. Those are easy choices.

And Glenville? Boy it's quite a stretch to say there aren't a whole lot of nice people walking around in the Cleveland ghettos? Are you mad? Would you get so offended if I said South Chicago or East LA? Tedd Ginn Sr. is Toledo Roger's Coach Rios, only on steroids. He's got a monopoly on that Cleveland public school talent and thrives with it. What else is there to say? It's not a good or bad thing, it just is what it is.

What are the contents of that playlist sir?

I made it last season but I don't foresee anything changing between now and Saturday. Too busy. I'm not gonna run down the whole thing, but it starts off with shipping up to boston, then the rocky theme song, fight song in the middle, and ends with the nd alma mater

My girlfriend might break up with me if ND loses on saturday. This is her first time being around me for an ND game because we have only been dating for three months. Could be glorious. Could be a disaster. Stay tuned for sunday morning.
