While looking for confirmation of the Slaughter official, ran into a pretty good article on Corwin Brown with some other interesting tidbits as well.

Thought this was the most interesting part of the story:

"If they get everybody they want, they'll take 25," Lemming said. "And there's no reason to think they won't. If they don't get everybody they want, they'll stop at 22, 23, 24. They won't take a B-list guy just to fill out the class. They're beyond that."

I'm all for it. We need to upgrade talent -- as long as they don't take guys who are backup plans or filler, I have no problem with taking 25 in this class.

I love the quote " they won't take a B list guy" It wasn't to long ago that we would have taken any body. CW is now able to get the players he wants. AWESOME

Next years class will be very small but since we're finishing up on the '08 class we'll be able to establish solid relationships with the top '09 prospects. So, even tho next year's class will be small we'll have an edge with the top tier prospects since we can work on them a lot sooner than most other teams. Smaller class, but higher profile prospects.

I found this juicy tidbit in the Slaughter commit article. Nice to read that CB is showing no deference to his alma mater:

"(Brown) said if he would have gotten offered by Notre Dame," Slaughter said, "he would have gone to Notre Dame."

I see Coach Brown having the defense prepared, tough and smart. I thought alot of our problem was we had bad techniques when it came to the defense. Beside the fact we was slow as hell. But I see Coach Brown doing good thing, before he leave for better things.

Big Jets fan here so I think I know what to expect.

I see a bend but don't break defense this year.
Every team Parcells, BB, and now Mangini have gone to that was their defense the first season. (with the exception of Dallas that already had an established defense)
There will be some nicely disguised blitzes from all angles, but only on obvious passing downs.
When Brown has his players expect a whirlwind of zoneblitzes and LB's flying all over the field!

Article read and comprehended. I have a new respect for a man that I already had an enormous amount of respect for. I just hope we find a way to make the end come true. I have a feeling he has the "nasty" that Charlie promissed our D's would have. The two of them together could be a nightmare for the nation and a dream for us.
