Since a "Celeveland Indians" thread and a "Cleveland Cavs" thread exists, I asked myself "why leave out the Browns?"

I was listening to 610 WIP in Philadelphia and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk was a guest on one of the afternoon shows. He stated that he doesn't feel that the Browns are completely sold on Colt McCoy. He went on to say that once the league gets the skinny on McCoy, he may struggle.

These opinions were made after they asked him about the teams still interested in Eagles' backup QB Kevin Kolb. With former Eagles' GM Tom Heckert in Cleveland, Florio re-affirmed that same speculation from months back by himself and others that the Browns could still be interested in Kolb.

Who is sold/not sold on McCoy?

Anyway, not a Browns fan, but this was the only thing I could muster up to start some Browns talk worthy of a thread.

i'm not a browns fan either...not sold on mccoy as of yet. Rooting for him like crazy, but not sold. It would be nice to see what he's capable of when they get some weapons around him. he is very accurate and can hurt you with his feet, but he was a little inconsistent from watching the games i saw last year, but he was a rookie so of course he gets a pass for that. should be an interesting year...in regards to kolb the browns do have that extra first round pick this year from the falcons so if they want kolb bad enough they do have the resources to bring him in.

As a Browns fan I'm not 100% sold on Colt, like most fans I know. However I have seen enough from Colt to want to see more of what he can do. He needs more talent around him. I've been saying that about every QB the Browns have had since they got rid of Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow.

As for the trade for Kolb I would be shocked if he happened anytime soon, even with 2 first rounders next year. The Browns have too many holes to fill yet before they can start trading away first round picks. IMO. The LB are getting old, need a FS, could use another CB (I hate Eric Wright), may still need a number 1 WR, and a number 2 RB behind the White Rino wouldn't hurt.

Also these 2 articles lead me to believe that they front office is ok to go forward with Colt. Would like to find more articles that I've read but I haven't had my coffee yet this morning.

I really hope they stick with McCoy. The Browns are going nowhere anytime soon. Them trading away their top pick to get more picks validates that. Colt is a proven winner and leader at Texas so why not give him time to get comfortable with the system. Just hate how Cleveland goes through QB's like I do beer watching the games. Still salty they didn't give Brady a chance but that's done now. I also agree they need another legit RB threat behind Mr. Madden. He won't last long taking that big of a beating even though he is the one laying the hammer on people.

I think they had a pretty good draft. I hope Little turns into that receiver as the go to guy for McCoy. I liked them picking Marecic from Stanford as we all know he is a hard working player (****). Would be nice to see him lead the way for Hillis. Or I can see him being on D. Nice having options.

But too many holes for right now. After the draft McShay already predicted Cleveland with the 1st pick of next years draft!! And he has them taking Luck because "he's a once every decade type of player and you can't pass on him". So if they stick with Colt he has one year to prove himself should the 1st pick come their way. Go Browns!

My opinion of Colt: He will be nothing more than a serviceable back-up in the NFL. He definitely is smart enough with the football to stay afloat in the league, but I don't see much more.

Sure playing on Cleveland (who is still building) will hinder his progress, but I personally don't think he would thrive in even the perfect situation. The Browns would be better off pursuing someone like Kolb IMO.

The system he was in last year was terrible. The west coast offense that the browns are switching to fits his skill set perfectly. I'm not sold on him, but I really hope it works out because he seems like a good guy who would be a good face of the franchise.
