He hit Giant Frank Gifford under the chin separating him from the ball. Gifford didn't get up.He was not only knocked out of the game, he was out for the season.
Later that same year he went head to head with FB Jim Taylor, throwing him to the ground and then standing over him and not letting him get back up. Think Faine playing to the whistle. Bedarnik didn't recognize the whistle.
