Can someone put that picture of Stewert standing next to that coach. I tried searching the boards and can't find it. Probably out of my own stupidity, but if someone could post it here I would appreciate it. I had it on my background and never saved the pic.

My boss wants to print it out and turn it into a poster sized picture for the Purdue game. Its pretty much me and him for Notre Dame, and around 150 Purdue grads where I work.3

thanks Fellas

You need to get the picture of him at the Army All Star game doing a split to show how flexible he is for a big guy.

That is without question photo-shopped..........there are other pics of that stretch of concrete with guys like Sam Young walking down it and the difference is obvious.

Plus, that would make the coach about 5'0 tall........and he's not even looking at Stewart.

Definitely a photoshop. Where's his face - you can't see anything inside the helmet, the helmet is empty.

I don't think it's photoshop but rather the size differential, equipment, PLUS the difference in ground elevation. Note the position of the feet for the guy in the baseball cap. His toes are considerably higher as there's an slope UP to the sidewalk. He's actually standing a couple of inches lower. If he was turned with his back toward Stewart he'd appear taller as his heels would be up the incline.

Can you remember Joey Getherall standing next to Mike Rosenthal in the huddle? The announcers use to comment, "Getherall doesn't even come up to his numbers!"

Joey was 5'-7" and Rosenthal 6'-8" and they were both dressed the same (uniform, pads, helmet, and cleats) standing on the same surface. Stewart and the other guy aren't.

Stewart is 6'-4" wearing a helmet (which adds a couple of inches, say 2) and cleats on a hard surface (add at least another inch) now add 3 inches or so for the difference in ground elevation. The shoulder pad don't make Stewart taller but they contribute to the effect.

The guy in the cap may be taller than Getherall (probably not by a lot) but the difference in elevation plus the helmet and cleats creates a similar vision of Getherall and Rosenthal.

Where's his face?

To start with he's a black man. The skin tone is darker, the contrast less.

Now check Stewart's arms. His right one is swung out and highlighted by sunshine. The left one is only highlighted below the elbow. The upper arm is close to the body shadowed by the shoulder pads. It's dark.

Check the body shadows thrown by Stewart and the man. They're consistent. Check the diagonal shadow between the 5 and the 9 on Stewart's jersey. It's from his facemask or chinstrap. It's somewhere around midday. Not noon, say 10 or 11 am or 1 or 2 pm depending upon orientation. The sun is high and with the helmet and angle of Stewart's head its' not shining on his cark complexed face.

You'd readily know this if you watched CSI. My wife is a CSI fanatic, I'm forced to watch.

I've also worked in Photoshop.

yeah...this is definitely not photoshop...that is too easy to spot & this isn't even close. You can look for little things and see a doctored pic. Those things don't exist here.

Plus the guy in the cap is further away from the cameraman.

I don't know or care if it is photoshopped...the real lesson here is that this is a very large man who will be making holes for the RBs and protecting the QB sometime in the near future. This is something that excites me.

View the Practice Report video on the und.com website from Sept 13. At the very end, it shows the linemen blocking, and specifically Chris Stewart. When I watched it I was struck that he appeared to be MUCH slimmer than at the Army All-American game. Pretty obvious difference.

Mendoza rules!

I have to disagree here.

The REAL lesson is that if you get in his way, he might eat you.
