That's not happening.
He still has other sites as options. He's not getting public funding but he'll keep trying.

This is why I’ll never worry about the Sox moving. Their market is still way more sizeable than that of Nashville, Portland, etc.I will believe it when I see it, but maybe, just maybe, Jerry has finally gotten the message and has siphoned enough money into his greedy face to finally move along once and for all.
The other owners will have to vote to approve this. Hopefully there are no obstacles there or anywhere else.
What's interesting is that there is virtually nothing there when a new owner should arrive. You're basically starting from scratch because they have infrastructure from the front office down to the minors that is so prehistoric you can only really build on it as opposed to having to tear everything down. They are so far behind everyone else, you can basically build this thing into your own image if you hire the right people in the right places. It sucks that people could wind up losing their jobs after who knows how many decades Jerry let them hang around, but at the end of day, this is sadly long overdue for a professional sports franchise that has been languishing behind everyone else for a very long time. The truth is, in most other organizations, a lot of them would have been let go a long time ago. Jerry keeps his people around. Once Jerry is gone, we're going to see what's what.
Every one in this organization at the highest level of baseball operations should be relieved of their duties wherever it is possible. Howard Pizer, Chris Getz, Brooks Boyer, Scott Reifert, right on down to the lowest level of the farm system. Gut everything and everyone. Start fresh. Build a modern day Major League operation that doesn't include Tony LaRussa. Hire people from the Rays, Brewers, A's, etc. who know what it is they're doing and how to do it on a small budget in a small market, because even sharing a market with the Cubs, the White Sox have a bigger market share than a lot of MLB clubs.
I'll believe this when I see it, but man, what a breath of fresh air this is going to be if it happens.
If the sox start spending this offseason I think they could compete for a wild card spot they got some nice young talent that is stepping up.
Well, if Ishbia is allowed to start making “cash infusions” it could happen. If Jerry spends money…….
BWAHAAA!!!!!!
I think Benintendi is the largest contract in franchise history. He spends like his team is located in DeKalb instead of the third largest market. Fuck him and the Sox forever.
The good news with a planned transition like this is that there is more time for the new owner to evaluate all areas of the franchise and develop a plan without actually having to put it into effect in short order.I will believe it when I see it, but maybe, just maybe, Jerry has finally gotten the message and has siphoned enough money into his greedy face to finally move along once and for all.

COVID szn was fun lolYup, the team will be ready for a top to bottom rebuild in ten years. Then another 5-10 years for the new culture to take over from A ball to the big club.
I guess my 70’s might have a winning team.
2021 was fun.COVID szn was fun lol
This is correct. You had to know right then and there they were not a serious franchise. Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn did not want this. It was Jerry's call all of the way and it was a total disaster. The LaRussa hire destroyed all momentum.
We had all those 100 loss seasons that basically led to Nick Madrigal.
And got rid of Vaughn.Sox acquired local player: Ryan Noda.
Yeah, I think Noda takes over first for the rest of the season. And got rid of Vaughn.
