I will believe it when I see it, but maybe, just maybe, Jerry has finally gotten the message and has siphoned enough money into his greedy face to finally move along once and for all.

The other owners will have to vote to approve this. Hopefully there are no obstacles there or anywhere else.

What's interesting is that there is virtually nothing there when a new owner should arrive. You're basically starting from scratch because they have infrastructure from the front office down to the minors that is so prehistoric you can only really build on it as opposed to having to tear everything down. They are so far behind everyone else, you can basically build this thing into your own image if you hire the right people in the right places. It sucks that people could wind up losing their jobs after who knows how many decades Jerry let them hang around, but at the end of day, this is sadly long overdue for a professional sports franchise that has been languishing behind everyone else for a very long time. The truth is, in most other organizations, a lot of them would have been let go a long time ago. Jerry keeps his people around. Once Jerry is gone, we're going to see what's what.

Every one in this organization at the highest level of baseball operations should be relieved of their duties wherever it is possible. Howard Pizer, Chris Getz, Brooks Boyer, Scott Reifert, right on down to the lowest level of the farm system. Gut everything and everyone. Start fresh. Build a modern day Major League operation that doesn't include Tony LaRussa. Hire people from the Rays, Brewers, A's, etc. who know what it is they're doing and how to do it on a small budget in a small market, because even sharing a market with the Cubs, the White Sox have a bigger market share than a lot of MLB clubs.

I'll believe this when I see it, but man, what a breath of fresh air this is going to be if it happens.

This is why I’ll never worry about the Sox moving. Their market is still way more sizeable than that of Nashville, Portland, etc.

If the sox start spending this offseason I think they could compete for a wild card spot they got some nice young talent that is stepping up.

If Jerry spends money…….
BWAHAAA!!!!!!

I think Benintendi is the largest contract in franchise history. He spends like his team is located in DeKalb instead of the third largest market. Fuck him and the Sox forever.

Well, if Ishbia is allowed to start making “cash infusions” it could happen.

Prepare for disappointment if you allow yourself to believe that.

This team is dead to me.

The good news with a planned transition like this is that there is more time for the new owner to evaluate all areas of the franchise and develop a plan without actually having to put it into effect in short order.

Yup, the team will be ready for a top to bottom rebuild in ten years. Then another 5-10 years for the new culture to take over from A ball to the big club.

I guess my 70’s might have a winning team.

The LaRussa hire destroyed all momentum.
We had all those 100 loss seasons that basically led to Nick Madrigal.
This is correct. You had to know right then and there they were not a serious franchise. Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn did not want this. It was Jerry's call all of the way and it was a total disaster.

Rick Hahn's rebuild was ready to come to fruition at that time. 62 wins in 2018, 72 wins in 2019. Then the Covid season hit. They hire LaRussa rather than AJ Hinch. They went 93-69 IN SPITE of LaRussa being manager, and things came somewhat undone with the Yermin Mercedes incident. The next season they go 81-81. Then they lose 222 games combined in 2023 and 2024. AJ Hinch sticks up for Mercedes, doesn't lose the clubhouse and likely wins them a few more games that season. The Astros showed the WS their flaws in the ALDS, but with Hahn and Hinch there would have been an attempt, an effort, to drag the franchise into a more modern way of doing things. You just never know how it could have gone.

Even with that being said, the front office and organization as a whole are stuck in the past. Probably more than any other team in baseball and they likely rank up there in all of North American sports as one of the worst run teams. No analytics, no accountability, no real ambition to be good and win more fans.

We still aren’t good, yet. But we are fun to watch. These young guys can play.

Yeah, not sure if Venable is a good skipper or not, but they're playing progressively better ball. They've gone from utterly abysmal to just mildly below respectable.

This makes a lot of sense out of Lou, if they can actually fit two stadiums at the 78. Ishbia going to finance a stadium himself. 2029 also coincides with when the lease ends at the new Comiskey as well and Jerry 100% will not pay money when that sweetheart deal he finagled ends.

I have zero knowledge of how these things work, but I have to imagine that Isbhia is going to have a decent amount of pull in how the organization is run even prior to 2029. Jerry needs to do everything to make sure this transition is seamless and to quell any doubts that Isbhia might have. It's in his best interest to listen to Isbhia and what he wants, if he ultimately wants him to buy the team. Can't imagine Jerry shuts him out when he's already putting in money to run the organization. Not a good look and you're only hurting your sale.

I had forgotten Clint Frazier was w/ the ChiSox. This shouldn’t surprise Sox fans.
