I really believe that Jimmy is gonna have a hard time holding off Dayne in the long run. Dayne has superior size, arm strength and mobility. I think accuracy is a slight edge to Jimmy, but only slight. Do not be shocked if by this time next year we have another QB contraversy. I will take some competition among true talented players. What a change from a couple years ago.

Hahahaha wow jones I think JC must have come into your house and kicked your dog or something. Crist does look like another superior talent at QB and I think at the least he will push for the #2 spot early. He certainly does have nice size and toughness, but I think it will take a year or two before he is ready to step into a major role (just from seeing him throw - the mechanics need some work, but since he is one of the best in his class, it's still splitting hairs). What a great kid too, he certainly seems like a good-personality guy.

Yeah, I think that Crist could end up being really good, but the learning curve will be there for him just like it is for JC. I do think that if Clausen doesn't look significantly better next year than he does now, then we could have a controversy, but is there any reason to think that's going to be the case?

Jimmy's getting a lot of playing experience this year. I just don't see Dayne coming in and taking over as starter. There's no doubt Jimmy will improve. Dayne and Evan will duke it out for the #2 spot.

A little though about Jimmy and Crist, If Jimmy can play well enough to win ball games, I see crist possibly redshirting his first year while Sharpley is still here. Then he will have two years of eligibility left after Clausen leaves. After Sharpley graduates, Crist will be the number two guy with Clausen having the starting job. I think Clausen will develop into a great quarterback. It has just been slow so far. Then you have a six year span of great quarterbacks at N.D. It may not happen but would be good to have six years of good quarterbacks. Or we may not count this year and say 5 years of great q.b's.

I think that's a very good possibility gold. We are going to be in the reloading, not rebuilding phase at QB in a hurry, and hopefully it will carry over into all the skill posiitons

I just thought that I would add the while Fleming moved up into the 100, Clelland dropped out of it, so ND still has six recruits on the list.

IMO, Crist redshirts next year unless we can't find a suitable #3. Then, when Jimmy is a Junior, if we don't plow through people, you will get a lot of rumblings on message boards saying "PUT IN CRIST". However, Charlie is sticking with his man.

Why does every dislike clausen? Give the kid a chance. You always hear "the new guy is always more popular than the current quarterback." However, this might be the first time that the guy at a DIFFERENT level altogether is more popular than the new guy.

LMAO, reps.

By the way, we should start a poll and to determine how many more games we have to hear "he pulled up in a limo and announced his committment."

I'm thinking somewhere around the mid-point of his junior year is when he stop hearing that story... so ill say 20 more games give or take 2.

You know if I would have known that taking a limo got you so much attention I think I would have agreed to take one to prom.

He does deserve a chance, I'd say next year should start to showcase his true talent.

The same way it irritated me that people were anointing someone as amazing before they ever threw a college practice pass with Jimmy, it irritates me with Dayne. Let em play, Dayne will be great, but for now he is a high school QB.

I'd thought that was so, but wasn't sure. Thanks for noting it, GG. Now we just need to land Floyd, Baldwin, Williams, and Robinson and we'll be at ten!

Hopefully, this will help us land Walker, Floyd, or Tate...or all (3) :)

I hope Crist gets the redshirt next year and we actually develop are back-up so we can reload not rebuild again after JC leaves!!!!

I'm not sure "everyone" dislikes Clausen. I believe that it's just the IMPATIENCE that mounts week after week of not having gawdy offensive stats and constantly losing.

I agree w/ you ... I wish that the "clan" would give the kid a chance! IMO, he's going to be some special type of QB within a year or so!

Via NDLNA, here's where the rest of our commits stand in the updated Rivals 250:

116: Lane Clelland
117: Jamoris Slaughter
147: Robert Blanton
160: Sean Cwynar
167: Joseph Fauria
194: Anthony McDonald
202: John Goodman
206: Braxton Cave

So that's a total of 14 out of 19 in the top 250. I think the only ones not there are Golic, McCarthy (huh?!), Newman, Posluszny, and Hafis Williams.
