Personally this game is over before it begins. I know I know. Negative nancy blah blah blah. Uconn 88 Notre Dame 71
It's not over before it begins; you still have to play the game and upsets happen all the time. However, you're not being negative, you're speaking the truth. UConn is just a much, much better team, and ND is awful on the road. The only way ND wins is if they play out of their minds, shoot out of their minds, and UConn overlooks them...
where are all the haters now????????
i am not saying we will win, but i will certainly take a 2 point game at halftime
Playing well, getting back in transition, starting to fight harder for loose balls than at the beginning. Should be a fun 2nd half...will they wear down?[/QUOTE]
Yes they will wear down. Their bench is not even close to being deep enough plus Hillesland is out for the game.
those kids fought their hearts out and for that they should be commended. trust me the selection committee noticed this. their job is to pick the top 34 at large teams in the country. if you dont think that this team is one of the top 34, after what they did today, then i want some of the crack that you are smoking. keep in mind UCONN will be ranked as the BEST team in the country come monday.
They fought yes. They played great yes. But I guess I'm just gonna hafta go ahead and pass you my joint (I dont smoke crack). Notre Dame is NOT one of the top 34 teams. Sorry, they just arent. The only QUALITY win that I can think of is against Louisville and MAYBE Texas although Texas isnt really all that great now that the season is almost over. We had at least 3 really BAD losses to some shitty teams. I'm sorry to say that this team does not belong in the good tournament. There just are 34 other teams that belong in there more than us, Maybe even more.
I couldnt disagree with you more, but thats what makes this board great, we can each have our own opinions and the forum to voice them.
I do have a question for you though. What are the 3 really bad losses? I will absolutely give you St Johns, I wouldnt even think of arguing that one. But every other loss has been to a probable NCAA tournament team.
Yes we do have to win out. Here is my opinion on what would happen to us depending on what we do in the BET.....
0 wins - big trouble, because it will be a bad loss to a bottom feeder, NIT baby....
1 win - not out of it, but pins and needles on selection sunday, would come down to what other bubble teams do.
2 wins - book it, we are in. 20 wins overall playing in the big east, forget it, no debate.
3 wins - the selection committee buys us all weed and hookers because it cant get any more guaranteed.
in other words, we dont need 3 wins. 2 gets us in, but even one puts us in the discussion.
I also want to make one more point about today's game. How about when it was 66-65 with roughly 40 seconds left and thabeet gets fouled, and he is just so hurt he cant shoot free throws, so they bring in austrie, a 76% shooter and he makes both. ND misses a 3, UCONN gets the looseball and calls timeout. After the time out, THABEET is right back in the game.
BULL F'N SHIT!!!!!!
I know it is within the rules, but that is just ridiculous. He should not have been allowed to come back in that quickly. They should make a rule that there is at least some time that the player has to sit on the bench.
lets not talk about missing free throws. i go to the university of memphis. if anyone knows free throws. its us. took us from the elite 8 TWICE a couple years back. lost us the NC last year. just pitiful
Yeah Memphis is pretty pitiful when it comes to those. I like Memphis. I think they go back to the National Championship but lose. Depending on where they are I think they will lose to North Carolina.
