I have been to 5 Notre Dame games in my life, 4 in the last 2 years. I will be attending the Utah game and taking along with me a co-worker. He is a huge Notre Dame fan, but this will be his first game and campus visit. What and where are the things to best visit when we are there?

MIrish, here are some places to check out: the Grotto, Basilica, and the Snite Museum. Watch the band march about 40 min. before gametime. Hope your co-worker enjoys campus and you both enjoy the game.

I don't know if you can get up there anymore, or if it is still the same, but I used to like to go up to the top floor of the library. Great views of the entire campus from all four sides. Gives you a different perspective, and then you can go down and join what you have been observing.

Also, the band gives a concert on the steps of Bond Hall. Think it starts at 2:00 sharp if kick-off is at 3:30. Drum circle after the concert is great, then watch the Irish Guard lineup. Threee short blasts on the whistle and band begins the march across the campus to the stadium. Always gets the blood pumping, like "were coming to kick your a**!"

I am coming to South Bend for my first game as well next Saturday!! Would anyone be willing to take in a couple fans from Nebraska at their tailgate?

Also looking for some suggestions on what are good gameday traditions we should check out...

Yes, the Snite is pretty boring. I saw some good indy flicks in their screening room back in the day, though. Do they still do movies on Friday nights?

Thanks everyone for the input. I know we will have lost of fun. I was spoiled last year getting to watch the MSU victory from the 40, and then the OT win vs. Washington in the endzone that OT was played in. We got to high five the players as the came in and out of the tunnel, even one of my sons caught a players sweatband. They were so excited.

Notre Dame is so much fun on game day! I also recommend the Knights steak sandwiches, the bond hall steps when the band plays, and don't forget to go to the bookstore!

The bookstore is a must. But with the couple games i've been to, thats about all i've really done. Stood at TD Jesus and followed the band after they had begun the walk. But thats it. I've been told that if you 'casually' walk down the bleachers by the 30 yard line you can 'casually' walk onto the feild following the game and singing. Someone also told me that they allow you onto the practice field game morning. But i've been told alot, so. I just want to have a good time, experience a little more of the game day feel, and show my co-worker the same.

I agree with Irishandy. But, just walk away from the band and go someplace away from it, and walk the campus back to the band it is pretty special. Just hearing it, and walking on campus is flipping awesome!

Go Irish!!!!!!!!!!!!

Utah // Events // Game Day // University of Notre Dame

Check this site out for times of events.

I got to see the bagpipes in front of Main Building at the Western Michigan game. Caught the players walking thru to mass right after that.

The Basilica is a worth a look inside for someone who has never been there.

The practice fields are open day of game. You can run around on all three outdoor fields.

I don't know if they always have former players signing autographs at the ACC but I got Tony Rice and Allen Pinkett to sign my tickets before the Purdue game.

Has anyone been in the Rockne Memorial before? I'm going to the Utah game and am wondering what it is like.
