I waited year after year for him to develop and he just never did. Then he plays in Texas one season and puts up monster numbers and gets his cash grab. Hopefully that wasn't a fluke, but I think you'll be pulling your hair out like I did many times.

He's a journeyman 32 year old who had a career year and is a horrible defensive center fielder.

Waste of money and I'm glad the White Sox didn't pay for him.

If I'm Samardzija one look at this contract and I'm headed to the MLB. And pitchers are even more overpaid than everyday players

No kidding... Baseball play a heck of a lot more but they get paid a heck of a lot more too... and pitchers (at least staters) don't play that much.... Baseball is where the money is for sure!

Well, hopefully he keeps performing at the level he did with Texas. I'm not terribly familiar with the Angels, but is it a good hitters or pitchers park?

I haven't followed the Angels since the Dick Schofield days when I lived in Las Vegas as a kid. His dad used to live right next door and got me all kinds of signed Angels stuff.

Dick Schofield, man that's a name with good memories... LOVED his odd batting stance... Still have my Wally Joyner poster from childhood rolled up somewhere...

I don't believe Matthews will help that much personally, he had one nice year and it's not like he's overly young... the park is one of those odd ones... ball carries GREAT during game days but DIES under the lights... not known for being either a hitters of pitchers park distinctly... We have the arms for sure... in the rotation and the pen, we need bats and I knew we had a good chance at Gary, but not at THAT price and I hope this isn't our big answer to the "who will protect Vlad" question... if so it's another missed postseason

Great park to watch a game though... been to Dodgers, the old bush sta., PetCo in SD, the old Jack Murph, Kaufman in KC and Angels Sta. is the best out of that group...
