What is dillusional? Watch the film again; it wasn't stupid calls on defense, it was just great play after great play. You can't fault Diaco when he has a player hanging on Denard's legs and he still completes the pass. Get real.

Defensively it was not great plays that killed us. It was poor secondary play. Very very poor secondary play.

Here's my thought...

The team this year would trounce the team last year. I really believe that. We're better on both sides of the ball.

The circumstances this year have been bad (our own doing...turnovers, etc.). I'm not trying to preach patience, but I do think that we're better this year than last, which was a better team than the year before that.

For now, I'll take that. And, now, I'm logging off.

Going to grill out today, clean up the house, do some office work, and enjoy life.

Reasonable expectations...

That's why people are bugging out already. The team that has been built over the past 15 years has been built poorly. You don't need to be a fan to even realize that.

Bob Davie, Ty Willingham, and Charlie Weis. You can't undo what they did, especially Weis' era, this quickly. Nobody could, not Urban Meyer, not Bob Stoops.

Mack Brown - 8 seasons until he won his only NC at Texas. Started his career with three straight 9 win seasons, 1-2 in bowl games.

Bob Stoops - Won his only NC in his 2nd year after a 7-5 first season, hasn't won another since. Lost to FLA in 2009 title game. 6-6 in Bowl Games (Of note - his first 4 games that year were against UTEP, Arkansas State, Rice, and Kansas.)

Steve Spurrier - Took him until year 7 for his one and only NC at FLA.

Point is this, you need to have reasonable expectations. Remember the players on this team and to see them at face value, not what you want them to be. Outside of Manti Te'o (and the freshman), who on defense would a top tier football program take in a heartbeat? Louis Nix?

BK is rebuilding this program. I'm not asking for patience because that's all we have been doing, is being patient but I stress reasonable expectations.

I dont think you should make posts like that that have reason and logic. You will be more respected for stirring the pot and causing panic. Yes that is sarcastic.

The post was well said. Calm down, we will be fine. BK's job is 100% safe. Even Rich Rod got 3 years. Give him some time. 15 games is not NEARLY enough time and I dont care what anyone says.

Kelly is the best coach we have had since Lou. I hope all the haters are glad they helped neuter Kelly's emotions along with the media. Keep up the bs because we get rid of Kelly its going to be another 15 years of futility. Kelly knows how to win and he will so all of you armchair coaches watch what you say because in the same situation you wouldn't have the balls to stay on the sidelines

Notre Dame's total offensive output ranks tenth in the country after two weeks. It's wild considering this team hasn't played MAC/Sun Belt schools like the rest of America.

Let's all pray that the turnovers are fixed and this team will win every game. I still think 9-3 is very doable.

You are very right. Secondary was the problem in this game which really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone since they were predicted by most on here to be the worst group on the team this year. However, I don't think anyone expected gray to suck as bad as he did at the end...

On a day like today, I refuse to let a football game get me down. I hate seeing even the most pessimistic fan turn on the team. Now is the time, even for fans, to band together and support the team. Just as it is with recruits (and I speak just for myself), if you don't want to be here then don't be here. Be here because you desire to see the team succeed or in the recruits case, be part of the solution.

We live in a microwave world, instant this, instant that. BK took over a program in complete shambles. Rebuilding is a process that needs to be placed in a slow cooker.

Personally, I want to enjoy pot roast for years to come, instead of a frozen dinner.

Kelly's known for player development. I don't see it at all.

I think the reason he might be struggling is because this maybe the worst QBs he's ever had to work with.

Tommy averages over 2 picks per game dating back to last year. That is terrible.

Crist craps his pants out there and is inaccurate.

I don't know how else to defend BK. He has a great team and he's 0-2 vs. average teams.

Although I'd like to smack him in the back of the head right about now, I think no matter what, we have to give BK 5 years.

Just like the players, BK is learning and growing. To me, it seems he might be in a little over his head right now and trying to micro-manage everything....I think he needs to unleash his assistant coaches a little more.

Learn how to spell DELUSIONAL.

The 2007 Notre Dame team was on par with a MAC school. The 2009 Notre Dame team would have given up 700 yards to Denard Robinson. Hell 2007, 2008, and 2009 teams would have run out of gas in the fourth and they'd have run all over then. Instead you saw Denard throwing passes whilst being tackled, Denard booting with perfect coverage so he runs it for 12, etc etc. Denard Robinson is a man. He threw up horrendous ugly ducklings--throws so bad they sorta made sense.

Sorry not buying it, the reason Denard wasn't running all over us in the 4th quarter was b/c they were down by 17, and had to score quick, done by passing. Hence we got "passed" over instead of "runned" over. What do you call 28 pts in the fourth quarter? It's called running out of gas. It's the same story over and over. You can be delusional all you want, but I'm not buying it.
