I heard on Rivals Radio this morning that apparently he has some skeletons in his closet. After talking to a friend who was able to listen to more of the show than I was, apparently he may have gotten a woman, dont know if it was a student or not, pregnant. Also he campaigned for John Kerry, who is pro choice, and we already know the uproar over Obama.

Again I did not hear that part of the show, wondering if anyone else did. That might be the kiss of death for him and the ultra conservative administration and alumni base.

What, I am not making an accusation. Go to google and search Brian Kelly skeletons, there are many message boards discussing this.

Like I already said I am just trying to see if anyone else heard this on Rivals Radio this morning, as I was not able to listen to the whole show.

All I care about is getting someone in here that knows how to win 10+ games a year, I could careless what the guy has done in the past. Everytime we pass on a Coach because his ethics or character we suffer bigtime!!!!!!!!

Seriously, character matters. This is an adult teaching kids. You don't want somebody with shady ethics teaching kids. No matter how much they can win.

Well all I want is to win......But hey if you guys want character then you guys better campaign to keep Weis and only win 6-7 games a year then......

I happen to believe in human nature and think that out of all the football coaches available, Weis may not be the only one with good character. Call me crazy.

ND will never and should never select someone with a shady past... no matter how great a coach he is.

This University is about RESPECT, We are prestigious, We are Notre Dame!!! We don't hire slim shady's and we sure don't recruit criminals, if they did I might as well root for the seminoles, they are only an hour away. But I don't! I root for Notre Dame, The fans will not except Baby Daddy's....I will not except them. Can anyone confirm this Brian Kelly nonsense....

and no, the OP's post does not really answer either of these questions based on the following info:

give me a break on the john kerry angle. there are liberal professors littering the campus of notre dame. sorry, but to this point, there is no meaningful information whatsoever. im not saying there are no significant skeletons, just that there is nothing concrete out there to this point.

Dumb. What to politics have to do with anything? As long as he isn't a skinhead I will be fine if he can win games. Christ, people like to find these tiny flaws in coaches like getting a girl pregnant. Not a big deal AT ALL.

Funny you google Brian Kelly Skeletons, and It pulls up this post and 3 other similar posts from messege boards and thats it. I need proof not just an internet rumor.

As for the John Kerry stuff, who cares. The mans political beliefs are his, I may not agree but this is America.

I am a 2006 ND grad and have been lurking on this site for a couple of years now, but have never felt the need to post until now. The level of vitriol and irrationality on this site is getting ridiculous. The collapse of the Weis era has us all bummed, but there is never any reason to attack the character of someone you know nothing about, especially on issues which have no bearing on the stated purpose of this site. I expect such behavior from the likes of U$C and Ohio State fans, but we as ND fans need to hold ourselves to a higher standard of behavior. If Brian Kelly does indeed have any issues of concern in his past, they will no doubt be addressed in the process of the coaching search. Until then, I suggest that we on this board try to act like adults for a change, and refrain from making personal attacks on someone simply because you do not agree with his politics or lifestyle choices.

"Conservative"????? Its a university, all the conservatives have been fired or black-balled during the interview process. I know many Catholics who don't know the Pope's position on abortion. Think there is a gender studies program at ND? Ultra-conservative??
