My interest in NCAA basketball went to zero when Indiana fired him (and I was your typical Hoosier Loon about B-Ball). I was just starting to watch again. Without Bobby out there coaching somewhere I am back to meh...

Long Live the General

I have never been a fan of Bobby Knight or his antics, but I have always respected Coach Bobby Knight. He was not only an excellent basketball coach but an exceptional teacher. He demanded his kids go to class, maintain quality grades and lead by example off the floor (a skill he has had trouble accomplishing). It is too bad many coaches in the ranks of D1 athletics have forgotten that they are teachers first, coaches second. Good Luck, Coach Knight

Im pretty sure he just got 900 wins, maybe he just wanted to reach that milestone and be done. He had a great career and is a great man, in my opinion, one of the top 2 college basketball coaches of all time.

He has done everything his way. Not sure why he quit mid season but I bet he will have some reason. You might not like him but his players love him and he makes them act right and graduate.

I think he just got tired. I don't care how much you love something, at 67 years old, he had to be worn out. I love teaching but I won't do it a day after 60 even if i have to live on cat food in retirement.

He probably just wanted to have more time to fish and didn't want a big hoopla going out the regular way
