Brady's draft position

T. Smith would make a great 'runner' for a Vegas bookie. But all kidding aside, Brady to Carolina would be terrific. Anywhere but Oakland, BQ deserves so much better.

Amen, anywhere but Oakland. Also, and move that avoids the Lions would be greatly appreciated.

Brady's not the type of character guy to pull such a move. But it would be a travesty if he ended up in the silver and black abyss.

ESPN reporting that Lions are beginning to heavily scout Brady Quinn.

That doesnt mean that they wont try to move that pick.

I have already set a precedent for hating people who do that (i.e. Elway and Manning) therefore I think that'd be the only thing he could do worse that getting drafted by Oakland

If I'm the Chicago Bears I do whatever I can to get Quinn. That team is a QB away from being nearly unbeatable. The team wins by two scores when their QB throws for 34 yards and 3 INTs. That's frickin' incredible. Get them a QB that can throw for 200 and manage the game and no one will touch 'em.

I'd go Ditka and give away my whole draft to get this guy.

You hit the nail on the head, but it isn't easy seeing someone you like go to such a crappy franchise (the silver and black hole). I'd be torn.

Hopefully he could just add a fair premium in the contract negotiations to discourage Oakland.

This assumes Oakland doesn't screw up the draft and select someone else first. I think Brady is safe.

As long as Al Davis is at the Helm, all bets are off. The Raiders have really had some bad drafts the past 5 years.

I personally cant see the Raiders taking a qb #1 maybe a rb or a trade. they aint gonna spend 50 millon on a qb with no running game

I would love to see BQ as a Bear, but unless they give up the house I don't see it happening. Brady Quinn if given a chance could make any team a winner. If I were BQ I'd take whatever team picks him, how much much of a dope does Eli feel after seeing what kind of team the Chargers are right now.

Would spending 50 million on a RB with no passing game be any better?

Actually, the Raider situation could be getting better soon. Their defense is pretty good, and it's the youngest defense in the league. They still need a couple of more players to be a top defense, but it's definitely a defense on the rise.

The offensive situation could improve because the defense is solid. That will allow them to use most of their draft picks, as well as the approximately 35 - 40 million dollars of cap space they'll reportedly have this offseason to upgrade the offense. Now whether or not they make the right moves, that's a different question.

Just gonna throw my hat in the ring with the Packers. Pack dumps Aaron Rodgers and the rest of next year's draft to land the REAL heir to Brett Favre and he goes on to win 5 Super Bowls....oh wait, I blacked out for a minute there. Must've fallen into the most rewarding dream I've ever had while typing.

I want Brady to go to GB too ...I think he would do awesome there. But, Brett may be returning next year.

Agreed. 100% Brady would be worth the sacrifice. Bears have done it for lesser players...why not BQ?

I don't think Troy Smith will be the NFL bum a lot of ND boardies are making him out to be.
I have been reading a lot of his NFL stock reports and the name "Drew Brees" comes up in comparison in regards to TS at the next level.
I agree he won't go ahead of Quinn, but writing him off might not be what the NFL folks are going to do.

As long as Brady does not end up in Oakland just because I hate Al Davis and it would be a waste. Also I would not like him to go to Houston because I would be scare for his life. I think Brady would look good as a Redskin, Snyder seems to have an unlimited bank roll some how. Brady might be too young of a QB for Gibbs though. Gibbs seems to like to play senior citizens at QB. (Brunnell, Rypien)

Drew Brees' name keeps coming up because he is short at 6'1" like Troy. The problem for Troy is he ISN'T 6'1". He is really more like 5'11". Rex Grossman is smaller too, so for every Drew Brees you have a few Rex Grossman's. SIZE DOES MATTER. It's already damn hard for a BIG & good QB to get a break in the NFL. Troy will get drafted in the 2nd round, and then he'll be sitting around for a few years hoping someone gets hurt or go back to his job as an Enterprise Rent a Car Management Trainee. Troy Smith is not a QB you build an NFL team around. The first round is reserved for QB's of that caliber.

BTW, for all the Smith lovers moaning about going behind Brady in the draft and bringing up Drew Brees...Brees went in the 2nd round.

For some reason when I think of Smith I see Doug Flutie. Is that wrong?

Yea you are right. Plus the more I think about it the more I hope that doesn't happen. I don't want to see him gash my Iggles twice a season.
