2009 Bowl gifts to participants

There's a grid at the link that shows the choices available for the various bowl games that we aren't going to this year.

Product details are provided as they were available. Most watches, rings, clothing and luggage are custom-made with the bowl logo. Gift suites are set up as private events in which game participants, and often bowl VIPs, are given an order form and allowed to select a gift, or gifts, up to a value that is predetermined by each specific bowl, not to exceed the NCAA limit of $500 per person.

this is why if i was a player I would rather keep the bowl system. In a small tier bowl game I could get oakley shades or a nice digital camcorder or 420 bucks to blow at best buy (lots of dvds and video games for this nerd) I would be in love with the bowl system if I was a college player based on this alone. I was wondering though do colleges still get rings made for winning bowl games? I can understand the small tier games not getting them made but for the bigger games do they still get rings made?

Edit: just saw the hawaii bowl doesnt give you shit for going there I guess the trip to hawaii makes up for not getting much in your gift bag. I hope our boys didnt get the shaft like that last year
