Just some quotes from Cubit's post game press conference

On Notre Dame

"It proved that everything was exactly what we said. Notre Dame was first class, between hosting us all over the campus…Everything is first class. It's a great thing to be part of it.

I want to thank Notre Dame and Jack. It was a heckuva experience for our kids, and anytime you want us back, we'll be right out the door to come here. Everybody in the whole operation was absolutely fantastic."

On our players:

"Then when they brought in No. 33, that guy, holy smokes, he comes in and he's bigger than half of our linebackers and some of our defensive ends. That guy comes in there and you're just holding on for dear life.

We've been to a lot of great places - Nebraska, Florida State - but today really stood out to me. They go one deep, two deep, three deep, four deep. Forty-four, Calabrese comes over and golly, I thought I was going to lose a leg he hit this kid so hard."

Any video of it?

And I'm still pissed that I can't find that pullover Kelly and staff were wearing. Hammes bookstore is really going to get some hate mail..

Nicely played by their coach. I hope they go on to tear up the MAC.

Agree with all of the above. At the end of the game handshake, it seemed that he and Kelly really like each other and have a lot of mutual respect. The body language and smiles just seemed really genuine. His kids played really hard in a situation where they were obviously outmanned. Class act all around.

It would be great if they ripped up the MAC.

Their quarterback, Alex Carder, is going to be a great player. His touchdown to interception ratio is a bit high, but if he cuts down his mistakes, he will be up there with other great quarterbacks in college football.

Western, the school I taught at for 30 years, may not be good at most of our sports [so that everyone who judges a University by its winning percentages thinks we're trash] but we have been a class act on everything that we CAN control, given our budgetary and sports reputation limitations. One should remember that in Michigan the whole collegiate university system goes on one budgetary item through the legislature which is dominated by UM and MSU grads. The monsters feed first and heavily. The little brothers feed last and sparsely. This starvation diet limits many things that you can do on campus. But where we CAN economically do things correctly, we do. That extends to our coaches, faculty, the "trimmings" of the athletic department [band, dance teams, welcoming attitude etc---all the things hard-noses laugh off]. The Little School Up North of South Bend is not a bad place nor does it contain bad or mediocre people. ND should send "us" its recruiting "rejects". WMU would be glad to have them, and it and Cubit would treat them right.

With a coach like that it is easy to see why his kids play so hard for him!
It would be nice to see a guy like this at a big time school (no disrespect to WMU) this guy is a class act. I'm a fan of this team from now on except when they play the Irish.

Dirty secret- the clothes that coach Kelly wears are all given to him directly from adidas, the bookstore doesn't get them because adidas doesn't offer it to sell to public. Send the mail to adidas.lol maybe they'll make one for you if u send enough.lol ask for two, I wouldn't mind having one too, thanks in advance.
