Big10 Officiating

I think that the Big10 has some major work to do in regards to their officials. 3rd Big10 game we've played and some pretty bad calls. Although tonight they were on Purdue. The other Big10 games were full of bad calls however, including another Michigan last second victory.

Totally agree

...saw that play you reference...IU receiver caught that pass, and the MI defender wrestled it after they hit the ground...it was a tie at best...

When is the NCAA going to fix big 10 officiating, and replay booth officiating in general...bad for the game....

You just cant hide when your not up to the task. The saying in baseball is the ball finds the guy who cant catch. Its nice to see the country becoming aware that these guys are bad and sometimes caught up in the momentum, or story of the game instead of just calling what they see. If Weis threw his gum like that they'd be making fun of him for decades but now you'll hear that the commissioner will take a look at the quality of officiating. In the mean time Indiana and Notre Dame get a loss hung on them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the NDvsPurdue refs were Big East, and you do have to throw a flag on taunting like they did on the play when Clausen was down. You cant let that $%^# go no matter who does it. And Purdue was holding, and Purdue was in illegal formations, and Purdue was in motion improperly. These are just basic calls there was no bias in this game.

I agree with irishtrain, I thought all the calls were legit. And also am pretty sure it was Big East officials.

Yeah, I thought the refs actually helped us more than they have all year. It's sad that when a ref makes a good call in our favor, I say he's 'helping us', but that's what it's come to with these hose jobs this year. Tonight was well-reffed in my opinion. Anytime in the 2nd half I would bitch about the refs, my wife would remind me how generous the calls had been towards ND.....and like always, she was right...

The Big 10 has no intention of "fixing" its officiating. Indeed, they are doing what they are told. The Big 10 is so damn shady, they've decided to go ahead an outright chose the winner of games based on officiating. They are losing big money by having Michigan be so lousy, so its pretty apparent they've informed the referrees that if they want to keep their jobs, they do ANYTHING to get Michgan over in games this year. Including screwing a team from their very own conference (IU) who could have been a nice feel good story if they'd "upset" Michigan, then gone on to win a few more Big 10 games and made a decent bowl. But thats not the Bigs 10s plans. They want Ohio State and Michigan in the BCS, and they'll do literally ANYTHING to see that that happens. Its pathetic. I hate the fuggin conference now. I think we should start some kind of fan petition to to disassociate ourselves from them.

If you go back and look the ref was trying to pull the flag out his pants to throw it.

Yes, the officiating was not as bad, another reason i enjoy the game more than the last two for the most of it.

big 10 officials are 2-1 on the year, they have a pretty good chance of making a BCS bowl if they keep this up.

BigTen officials are SOBs this year. obvious bias in the games they want to be won by which teams..... maybe JoePa wasnt too far off in saying they want OSU and scUM to be at the top of the league.
