Big Ten announces it won't pursue expansion - ESPN
I thought people would find this interesting, as expansion, and exactly how far it extends, will directly impact ND's independence. This is really good if the Big Ten wants to just stay at 12, it leaves out of conference games open to create those sexy match-ups everyone enjoys. If we can get the conferences to stay at 12 teams, this won't bring about the drastic change of 16 team super-conferences and allow ND to retain their independence.
This is a bit of good news for the time being. It certainly does not stop the possibility, but it is encouraging. I hope the Big 12 can get back to their given integer, and everyone can stop with the seismic change talk.
