Bollock!!!!! Bring back the Bear Bryant years!
This brings to mind an old joke that I was told that relates to the Bear Bryant years:
A young Black Running Back walked up to Bear Bryant and asked for a spot on the Tide. Well, in the deep South, football had yet been de-segregated. Looking for any excuse to let the kid down easy, Bryant turned to his OC.
"Give that kid the ball against the 3rd team D."
Kid takes the ball, hits the hole, and goes 50 yards for the easy score.
Slightly impressed, Bryant turned to the OC again. "Woo... that black boy can run. Put him against the 2nd team D."
Sure enough, the next play, to kid puts his foot in the ground, cuts, and goes 80 yards for the TD this time.
Bryant was a bit more impressed. He turns to the OC again. "Woo... that colored boy's got some speed. Let's see what he's got against the 1st team."
Backed up to the five yard line this time, Bryant calls a simple dive. The Running back hits the hole, shakes the safety, and goes 95 yards for a touch.
Bryant smiles, turns to his OC, and says "Woo... did you see that Puerto Rican run?"
