Arkansas will beat Florida. It's a good thing that ESPN does not give ND a chance...they jinx us every chance they get by saying we're good--and then that leads them right into we're overrated. So ESPN--keep hating. ND has to beat USC. Brady Quinn will win the Heisman. ND will win the NC. Woohoo! I'll be glad to share what I'm smoking with y'all.

The SEC is entirely overrated.

Arkansas is the flavor of the month. For them to jump 5 or 6 places just goes to show how highly the SEC is thought of. USC hammered this team by an extra 7 points to what scUM did to ND. So ND is less impressive with one blowout loss at home than a mighty SEC team?

Yawn.

I look at the Big Ten and I see Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin having 1 loss among them. That's not too bad. Penn State got beat by those three and Notre Dame. They can't play with anyone?

Rutgers can compete with anyone. Having seen Texas, Tennessee, Florida and Auburn all look lackluster Saturday don't tell me that Rutgers can't compete with them. The Rutger defense would tear Urban a new ass.

Weak. That's a lot of fear and hesitation in that quote. I think a second go around, they'd play a little bit better of a game this time.

Florida got beat by Auburn, who got their asses kicked by UGA and Arkansas. How's that for a signature?

Explain to me why it is Notre Dame's fault that Stanford and UNC suck when the schedules were made over a year ago.

Penn State has lost four games to OSU, scUM, ND and Wisconsin. Those four teams have combined for two losses. Why should Penn State not be considered a good football team.

When ND was winning 5-7 games under DavieHam, the schedule was okay with all you haters. Now they're beating these teams and all of the sudden you've got a problem with it?

Suck it up and swallow. These SEC teams play a lot of garbage outside their conference and they're not all that great to be so impressed with. The two unbeatens are in the Big Ten.

Did you read the quote I was responding to? The one that's all holier-than-thou and says any team that plays a D1AA opponent should be banned from bowl games? There are plenty of 1AA teams that would smoke Army, NC, and Stanford. "Notre Dame hasn't played that caliber of opponent since Knute Rockne was a crapping his diaper" Gimme a break. All I'm saying is, people who live in glass houses...

I don't care if a team plays a D1AA opponent. Everyone schedules cupcakes. I'm more interested in the other end of the schedule, strength-wise.

No one says the Stanford/NC is ND's fault. "Fault" is not the issue. But they're on the schedule...

Hesitation? Fear? Well, Michigan does have a tendency to play down to the level of its competition...

If SC beats Cal, I don't see the Irish beating them. But I've been wrong before.

Yeah, I read it. Find me a fan of any team that doesn't live in a glass house. Who do these SEC teams play out of conference? The Michigan-tOSU loser is still champion of the MAC.

BCS Schools with I-AA opponents are jokes. I can respect the MAC or CUSA or a service academy. But Citadel, Furman, New Hampshire, UMass? Sorry, Sugar.

No one says the Stanford/NC is ND's fault. "Fault" is not the issue. But they're on the schedule...

No, it is the issue. They were put on the schedule years ago and they suck this year. They were on the schedule and beaten. Just like Central Michigan and Ball State. Last year, Pitt, Michigan, Purdue, Tennessee and BYU all had crap years. Not this year. Missed them by 365 calendar days. That's life.

If SC beats Cal, I don't see the Irish beating them. But I've been wrong before.

Why should this matter? Carroll has never lost a game in November. If Cal beats them, I'm worried more.

Hesitation? Fear? Well, Michigan does have a tendency to play down to the level of its competition...

Clever, but That's one rematch you don't want. And much of the scUM fan base knows it. Line those two up on a neutral field and the score isn't 47-20. That game would be a dogfight. You'd be way better off with SC or "Tebow To the Left" Florida. So would Ohio State.

The winner of that game should not want to see the loser again.

This is all subjective crap. Who in their right mind is going to schedule Texas, Florida, USC, West Virginia, Florida State and Michigan every year? It won't happen. Everyone loads up September with teams they can beat. ND does it backwards.

It's not a good thing the SEC champ game is after our 'big game'.
WE really need LSU to beat arkansas and florida to lose to ark to keep polling bias out of it.

The SEC Champ could have two losses and still wind up playing Michigan or Ohio State.

Their knobs have been licked clean.

Florida has had more than one squeaker this year. They've had several.

Forget Florida. I've watched several Arkansas & UF games this year. The Hogs will spank UF. In a highly over-rated conference, Arkansas has been the most under-rated team. They put a beating on both Auburn(who bea Florida) and Tennessee(who lost by 1 to Florida).

They did, however, get mauled by USC. I understand McFadden didn't play and neither Mustain or Dick was QB, but their d gave up 50 points.

If ND can pull off a win against a #2 USC I think they get in. Much to the chagrin of most of college football. ND fans, on the other hand, will be dancing in the streets(except for the self-loathers who will be complaining about OSU or UM hanging 90 on ND because the defense is so bad.)

Let us not forget the gutsy performance by Illinois against Ohio State.

They peed their pants against Purdue in the second half. Great coaching, BTW.

tOSU hammered NU, as they should. Just as scUM hammered IU, as they should. They looked horrible the week before against lower caliber competition.

Body of work, folks. Each week, you're going to look better or worse than the week before. The only thing Ohio State, Michigan and Rutgers have done is win all of their games. Notre Dame lost once, Florida lost once.

You can be impressed with anyone you want or "meh" to anyone you want. It is all hypotehetical. To say Rutgers couldn't play in the SEC and Michigan couldn't play in the Big 12 and USC can't beat Florida....we won't know these things because the first two won't happen and USC does play Floirda in the regular season.

Hogs have improved where as Florida is mediocre. If ND does beat USC...we will have total world domination and the ND haters will be out of their minds.

I would love to play Michigan again. I don't think Michigan can count on us turning the ball over 5 times again. I would also love to see what the game would look like a 2nd time around. It's kind of hard to beat a team when you spot them 14 points and give them 3 extra possessions inside the 45 yd line. Michigan did do a good job of pressuring Brady. Anyway, I think we'll see emotion from ND in the ND-USC game that we've never seen before. ND will be fired up and I think they can beat SC. "Revenge is a dish best served cold". Florida will lose again. Arkansas is a great team, but Tennessee was playing without Eric Ainge this weekend. He's only maybe one of the Top 10 passers in the nation. No.....they didn't miss him. Things will get interesting from here on out. If Rutgers finishes undefeated, then they should be considered as well even though I think Louisville and West Virginia are overrated. Nevertheless, you cannot belittle what they have done to this point. Even though Louisville's defense is suspect, holding Brian Brohm down like they did is a significant accomplishment. That guy is pretty good.

What you have to ask yourself is this,Who is the Best one loss team?and does it show up in the rankings?I do'nt have a problem with ND ranking, because without the losses last weekend ND would'nt moved up otherwise! You want USC to win, that will help ND,watching ARK.and UF this year,ARK. will win the SEC Championship,It'll be a tough game for ND @ USC but ND wins by 3.......GO IRISH!!!

Ok this is all based on the assumption that we win vs USC, but here is what has to happen. Arkansas and Florida must both have 2 losses at seasons end, if they both go into the SEC title game with one loss a piece then the winner stays/jumps ahead of us. Michigan vs OSU winner must win impressively enough to drop the loser far enough in the BCS where our margin of victory over USC doesn't play a major role in the pollsters decision where to rank us. And belive it or not we need WVU to beat Rutgers. Because if Rutgers beats WVU in Morgantown they are going to get so much love they too might jump ahead of us. That win over WVU would validate there schedule, don't know to many teams that have beat 2 top 10 opponents in less then a month, plus they would be the only remaining undefeated from a major conference besides OSU/UM winner. Don't care what your SOS undefeated is undefeated.

First of all, here are two other things to consider....

In terms of Rutgers, I have a hard time believing that pollsters are going to move Rutgers ahead of a ND team that just beat USC (if that happens). Due to timing, I just don't think they let Rutgers in....

Also, if Arkansas wins out it will be VERY close. I could see us having an advantage in the computers, but the other voters would most likely put Arkansas in the championship game, because they hadn't played OSU or UM (like we had played UM)...

BUT if people look at this a different way, you could say that ND should go in ahead of Arkansas, because we beat the USC team at home that destroyed Arkansas at Arkansas' house....

Oh, the beautiful circle of college football.

Saying 1 loss Florida and 1 loss Arkansas meet in the SEC title game and Arkansas wins. I think they jump us in the polls, they would have beaten LSU, who is ranked in the BCS top 10 and BCS number 3 or 4 UF in consecutive weeks. I think those two games give them enough points to move over us into the number 2 spot. And I don't get why people keep saying that us playing UM is a disadvantage as far as getting voted into the BCS title game. When it all comes down to it the bowls games are still all about money. I am sure the bowl guys would have their "input" on who number two should be, and no matter what, ND means money where they end up bowl wise. I mean look if were throwing out conspiracy theories lets throw one out there that actually helps us.

Now, all of the sudden by the grace of God, this thing could actually happen and is not so far fetched. Look at all the guys that croaked Saturday.

Notre Dame and Michigan II in the desert for all the marbles? The thought of it gives me chills.

Saturday, I have to cheer for Michigan and USC. I want to throw up.

Blah.

I don't know about you guys, but I would LOVE to play Michigan again. If you think about it, if Carlson holds onto the ball in the 1st quarter instead of an interception going the other way, the game could've been completely different, plus they only outscored us in the second half by 6, with 7 points coming off of a Quinn fumble in garbage time. I think we would have a legitimate shot at beating Michigan if we played them again.

I think that the BCS rankings are just about right for once.

I don't agree with Florida being ahead of Arkansas and ND.

Floriday looked terrible against an average team on Saturday. They should have lost that game. I think they might have lost if Spurrier wouldn't have called a run from shotgun formation on second down. What happened to the Spurrier that chucks the ball all game every game????? I miss that jerk.

If USC beats Cal, that makes it possible for ND to get in. ND just has to beat USC of course. This could end up being one of the biggest games in recent memory for ND. I hope I find tickets!!!!

I think that LSU will beat AK. I think AK beats FL in the SEC championship. I wouldn't be shocked if FSU beats FL before the SEC title game. Bowden has to do something to salvage this season.

Spurrier's play calling after that big pass play got called back for holding really puzzled me. And you could tell by the way Florida lined up they were going to block that damn kick again.

What pisses me off more than anything is that friggin' home schooled breast fed until he was 12 goofball Tim Tebow does the same damn thing every time he comes into the game and no one stops him. This is supposed to be the best conference in all of college football. You'd think just once they'd realize, "Tebow is in and he's going to keep it to the left."

Yeah South Carolina is the most undisciplined team in football. Three field goal attemts blocked is unacceptable and the penelties at key times shows Spurrier is unwilling to pay attention to detail.

I hate Tim Tebow

I 2nd that. I can't wait for SOMEONE to finally wake up and realize that in 3rd and short this kid is going to run off the left tackle. It's not like he is knocking people over either. He goes untouched for 3-4 yards before someone hits him.
