I just wanted to share something. Yesterday I was told that my friend Jason had past away, he had problems with alcohol and other things. He is the second friend of mine to die from addiction in as many years. What's worse is that many of us knew that both of these people had these problems but pretended like they did not exist.

I know that this has nothing to do with football but I had to post this. If anyone of you has a friend, loved one, or anybody that you care about that you suspect has a substance abuse problem, PLEASE do whatever you can to help. They may get upset, they may deny the problem, they may even stop talking to you. I can assure you though, it will not be as bad as the pain you feel to know that there was a problem and you did nothing to help them.

Sorry to start such a sad thread but I had to get this off my chest. Go Irish!

Thank you for sharing....just goes to show you how football is honestly just a game and life itself is much more important, sorry for your loss. And as always go irish!

i havent had to deal with substance abuse, but recently i found out my grandma had colon and lymph node cancer. it has been a tough past 2 weeks and although i was extremely angered after this saturday i sat down and thought about my grandma and what she must be going thru. needless to say the surgery went well and the doctors are hopeful she will make a full recovery with the cancer being gone. I'm still praying God will take care of her but it makes me realize that football is just something that passes time at the end of the day.
